Mass is raising the sales tax from 5% to 6.25%. i know, times are hard and all, i understand this. i'm not mad about that. i'm mad because HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO CALCULATE 6.25% IN MY FUCKING HEAD?!?!?!?

5% is somewhat easy. IT'S DISCRIMINATION AGAINS THE DISCALCULATE!!

numbers suck, poly-ticks, bitching

Yeah, that sucks ass

I'm good at figuring out %s in my head, like the 7% sales tax or or discounts and stuff, and the stupid people I work with think I'm Rainman or something.

i'm hopelessly retarded when dealing with numbers in my head. my mother made fun of me for it, my sister is some math savant... though i am amazed how neither one of them can put a cohearent sentance together to save their lives. because they both read a ton, but they've not picked up basic grammar?

and if you can do that in your head, you are 10000x better than i am. for my psyche eval, they asked me to count backwards from 100... by SEVENS. christ, are people supposed to know this? turns out my mother and sister can. because, you know, they're better than me?

this reply is longer than it needs to be.

owch.

wtf is with the not-rounded-to-the-nearest-whole-number tax rates? are they trying to make it difficult? i mean, 10% os EASY to calculate =/

I'm not really sure what South Carolina's sales tax is but I do think it's some fucked up number.

Here in Utah, the tax rate is 6.85 percent on most things, 3 percent on non-prepared food.

that's a nice round amount, eh?

oh, i'd like to invite you to join team_fanguy, where we discuss attractive wrestling chicks (and sometimes the not wrestling ones) in a way only red blooded american males can.

Yeah, 6.85 is completely round... I'm still not used to being taxed on food.

Sales tax in Arizona was recently raised to 8.1%.

I couldn't even do the previous amount (7 something %) since I can't do math in my head. I can do addition by 10 in my head, but that's it. I need a calculator for everything else.
