Friendses!

Yesterday after church (loong, loooong time at church) engelhardtlm1  and I drove a couple of hours to have dinner with amberdulen  and scionofgrace , which was lots of fun.  We don't have a lot of friends our age up here (actually, we have one from church and we each have a small handful from work, and that's it) so it's been really nice to spends parts of the last two weekends

Oh Molly! I will definitely pray for her. She seemed very unique, the few times we met her in Columbus, and that's both an awesome and awful thing, I think... I hope she does meet up with her people soon.

I remember coming to Grove City and in the first few days being utterly resigned to becoming something completely different than myself in order to fit in, and just how depressed I was... until I met y'all, and got to really laugh and have fun, and meet people who were a lot like me.

Everything is better with friends around. I think people are more themselves around their best friends than they can even be by themselves, if that makes sense. Or if not more themselves, then better versions of themselves.

I know exactly what you mean about the homesickness. It made all the difference whether I was with people who were interested in the things I liked. It made the transition to college so much easier when I started meeting people who liked Tolkien and sci fi and would quote Monty Python at supper and tell wacky stories.

That was awesome meeting you, btw. DEATH to the vast physical distances between friends...
