I rather like how you describe the situation with Dean. My thoughts are somewhat correlated, in that Dean just does not want to spend time in his own head, and "taking care of Sammy" is his fallback position to avoid having to spend time in his own head, with his own problems.
There are many details in this ep that amuse me greatly, and I'm currently working on my own commentary/review/meta/rambly. I hope to have it up tomorrow.
She. Is. AWESOME !111!!! *jazz hands* She really is. I agree that Becky has a lot of layers. I think Emily deserves an Emmy for pulling her off believably, lol. I really would love to meet her at a convention. It would be like the 5th level of Supernaturalception. O.o
I also agree with feliciakw that Dean's grasping for Sam to need him is also majorly a coping mechanism so he won't have to think about facing himself. Oh, Dean. So many issues.
DJ QUALLS!!! \o/ I am LOVING the guest star list this season!!
WHAT!? No way chicka, Andy and Dan are me and Blacklid's. OH OK FINE, WE'LL SHARE. *giant snuggle!pile*
HELLS YEAH HE DID!
*MUAH* See, aren't you glad I cyber stalked you and threatened you with unimaginable horrors until you talked to me? :D
(Also I REALLY love that you caught the Dean=Becky metaphor, you are the only one I've seen so far, and you know what? I didn't feel like explaining it so I left it out of my review LOL. Also it, while true, makes me want to take more showers. *Shudder*)
I noticed the second Becky introduced Sam to the demon that the guy knew who Sam was, too, but I didn't (obviously) figure the oh-crap look on his face was because demons had been ordered AWAY from the Winchesters. Super cool little forshadowing nod, there.
Crowley will always be such an awesome smarmy bastard. He does things I should hate him for (SOOOOO MANY THINGS) but every time he shows up on my screen I am all EEEEEEE!!!!CROWLEEEEY!!!!!!
Because he is smart enough to give Sam and Dean some respect, amirite? ;)
