This post may not make much sense to you if you haven't been reading my fic Everyday Love in Stockholm, but if you don't intend to read it I'll whine until you do then you can probably still get something out of it, I think. That said, if you are reading it but you're not up-to-date (last night I posted parts 104 - 111. This thing is 71,000 words ( Read more... )

I've found the varied range of opinions on your fic pretty fascinating myself. I love that a work of art can conjure up such different interpretations, be so subjective. At the same time I've found myself trying not to read other comments on your fic before I've posted mine because I don't want the intensity of some of the differing responses to influence my own reading of your story ( ... )

Sorry it takes me a couple days to reply sometimes - LJ hasn't been sending me my notifications a lot of the time so it can take a little longer for me to see replies and comments. Hope they fix it soon, it's pretty annoying.

As I said in my reply to your comment on the fic itself, I really do feel that you're on the same wavelength as me, I agree, which is lovely! It's just this solid shot of validation that someone gets what I'm trying to say, which isn't to say that I don't also love getting what everyone else says about the fic, because as my post says I find that totally fascinating too. But sometimes it's just really nice to go 'THIS' when you get a comment :)

I'm just really pleased you're enjoying it so much. It's got a much bigger response than I was expecting generally since I'm such a dreadful lurker, and everyone has been so awesome with their comments.

I know my comments aren't always what I'd like them to be, but I see so much of what you're saying here. In this fic, like you're saying, I'm focused more on following Erik's train of thought and his actions, and I objectively know he's making a somewhat poor choice, I can respect it and value it as valid. At the points when Charles tries to explain his position, I'm also finding myself agreeing with him, though I know that Erik won't do so much the same. That's what makes it all the more intriguing as I read--it's not black or white.

It's a sign of compelling writing that I keep oscillating when it comes to everyone's motives.
