[For those of you accustomed to, you know, anything remotely normal, the little corner of the mansion that's been consumed by the Medicine Seller's imagination may be somewhat unsettling.]

[Then again, if anyone happens to be more accustomed to the laws of physics being sort of sporadic, monsters from the most primal depths of the Japanese Read more... )

*Hey, remember that thing we were going to handwave cuz we were both on Hiatus? WELL NOW WE DON'T HAVE TO. There is a very confused Markus walking by. Unfortunately he's currently walking on the side wall. He lays down and tries to get back to the ground, but it's a hopeless attempt.*

[The Medicine Seller watches for a few moments, then speaks softly.]

Try the stairs.

What stairs?

*Oh, he must mean the ones that just appeared out of nowhere and smacked Markus in the head. Those stairs. He clings to the railing as if he's afraid he'll float away.*

[And this world ends up brushing against the floating palace in the sky. Someone is toning down your gaudiness with harem girls. -_-]

[Who said it was just their clothing that got gaudier?]

[Dean hunts monsters, sure, but this might be above his pay grade. He's pretty sure he's tripping right now, which is weird because he doesn't remember getting high. At least, not since high school, but that was years ago. And yet somehow, he's not surprised to see the Medicine Seller seated calmly to the side of all...all this.

Side-stepping around some big-ass bird thing nervously, he seats himself next to the man.]

...dude, your reality is messed up.

[He doesn't mean it, though, since he's chuckling. There's still weird shit around, anyway.

How long has it been, Medicine Man? Have you seen Dean since he lost his eye and finger?]

[No, he doesn't believe he's seen him since then. He's assuredly noticed, the moment Dean got near, but so far is declining to comment.]

Reality?

Who mentioned that?

So this is what Japan looks like in your time?

...to you, anyway.

[The Medicine Seller considers that for a bit, as the architecture around them gets more distinct--wooden beams, thatched roofs, movable walls made of printed wooden screens, thin rice-paper windows letting in dim light. A garden, through an open door. A pond full of slightly-too-bright koi, ringed with mossy stones and stretched over by a red footbridge, a little stone lantern, the flicker of ghosts and fireflies. Out of nowhere, a cherry tree sprouts, grows up in a matter of instants, blossoms before their eyes, and begins to shed its flowers.]

[The monsters remain, fading only slightly into the shadows.]

...More like this.

[Though parts of the area around them have begun to reshape into a temple, where many of the earlier elements of his imaginings have found homes.]

[ Japan, slightly beckoned by the scent of incense, goes the area where Medicine Seller is. There's already so much Japanese stuff, even if Japan enters the vicinity, nothing really changes ]

My....This is quite interesting.
