Clovember: Corporate Casual with whimsical purple and polka dots

Nov 13, 2015 22:52

Oh, Clovember, you're so quiet this year. In times past you were abuzz with outfits and commentary from ten or twelve people! Still, I shall keep flying the Clovember flag. I'm not in any way posting the actual outfit I wore on the day of posting, of course, but for whatever reason I feel like getting into the spirit of things suddenly, whether or ( Read more... )

Bravery! Ach, I feel I have rather nice shoulders (if I do say so myself), and given that I have no cleavage to flaunt, I figure I might as well get them out when it's warm enough. In fact, once the mercury passes 25 or so, I find garments with sleeves (except for the filmiest of light long sleeved shirts for sun protection) suffocatingly hot.

As for shoes, when I'm sitting at a desk (as opposed to prancing about in a training room... I'm a very energetic presenter!), I could in theory wear extremely impractical shoes!

I have never got the hang of belts, except for one rainbow one to hold up jeans, and occasionally try to be brave with belted dresses and always chicken out. You look great!

Thank you! I only tend to wear belts if I have something tucked in (which isn't that often) or am wearing a dress that's too shapeless for my smallness that needs some definition.

This is my favourite one so far! Maybe because I would wear it myself (with a cap-sleeve shirt, though; I'm not a bare shoulders person). Love that skirt. I wear lots of flared skirts and dresses, and I love the colour. Love the belt. Love everything, basically. A+ :)

No bare shoulders? I'm sure I've seen you with shoulders all Bare And Brazen! I'm the opposite: I loathe cap sleeves, and feel that make me look weird and boxy. But then, my shoulders are broader than yours, which makes a difference...

I read "today was way too cold for this outfit" and then looked at the picture and went "OH HELL YEAH IT WAS!!"

It's a really nice dress though. Just... in warmer weather.

It's actually a top and skirt! The top was from Diana Ferrari on clearance sale (it was originally $80, which is insane for what's basically a T-shirt, but when I saw it, it was reduced to $15, so I bought a red one as well..) and the skirt was from Quick Brown Fox, which often has fun quirky stuff.
