We always do.

Those of us who love regardless of species. We always feel that way. I still feel that way about pets I had as a child. I had no control then and I wish I could have done more.

You are in my thoughts.

Thank you. Maybe it's the marker that determines our devotion--that we still think of things we should have done better. Even now, as an adult, it means the world to me when my dad brings up a past event and says, "You know, I was wrong. And I'm sorry about that. And here's how I would do it differently." He loves me enough that he never stops thinking, never stops trying to be a better parent ( ... )

i'm more often moved by the loss of one of our pets than my family members nowadays.

Wow. Savannah... just seemed like she was supposed to be forever.

Savannah... just seemed like she was supposed to be forever.That's the part I'm struggling with, too. I know it's ridiculous, because who ever really pictures what life will be like without one of the most prominent fixtures? A parent, a trusted friend, a treasured pet ( ... )

You did the right thing, and you gave Savanah the best life she could ever have with all the love you could give. What a lucky dog! You are an incredible mom and an incredible dog-mom. I'm proud to call you a friend. Savanah knows all this, too, and she's smiling down on you with a grateful heart. Heart!

Thanks so much, lady. I thought about you and Ruffy so much yesterday, and I know you can empathize with what I'm going through. Thank you for offering to be there with me, but I'm glad you weren't, if only because I was a sad sight, I'm sure. From what I understand, they heard me wailing down the hall when it was over.
