Yes, I think you're right - fandom as a thing has gone mainstream in a way that we couldn't have imagined 15 or 20 years ago. And that is good.

I think so, too! I see people bemoaning the fact that it's not 'secret' or 'hidden' anymore and...well, it is, really - people *know* about fanfic and whatnot, but most people never see any, or care.

But the fact that it's out there, and talked about, and is just another 'thing' people do...is good, imo. :D
