Riding public transit means observing "interesting" people and overhearing their conversations. I keep thinking I should blog about them but would never get around to it when I get to a computer. Now that I have the LJ iPhone app, I don't have an excuse for waiting.

We're planning to hold a wake for zippy at Giovanni's. It will likely be Mon or Wed. I'd prefer Mon, but would like to give out-of-state folks a chance to come if they'd like. Will discuss with folks online and post details tomorrow. Going to try to get some sleep now.

Zippy has had a turn for the worse. The doctors feel there is nothing more that can be done for him and the best thing right now is to let him go peacefully. We had a very long meeting and eventually agreed.

Goodbyes are scheduled for tonight at 6pm, Stanford Hospital, E2 ICU. Let's give him a good sendoff.

SimCity. It's like crack. If they ever do Civ, I'm doomed.

After much red tape and waiting for background checks (sheesh!), I'm finally starting day 1 at Juniper tomorrow. I've been kept up-to-speed by a buddy in the group and have had regular correspondence with the hiring manager so it feels like I've been doing it for weeks.
