I've been spending some time canning lately. I've got a lot of stuff stocked up and still not enough Spaghetti sauce and there's no apple anything made yet. So far though there's an awesome stock up ( Read more... )

Aw man! That preserves sound fantastic. The only fruit I've done is peaches. I'll likely do a shitton of applesauce come apple season down here.

I'd LOVE to try amaretto sweet peaches!

HAHAHAH. I hate B&B pickles. The peach syrup is awesome though. I took the cook's prerogative and tried it.

There are ways to ensure you don't If you are really paranoid I would suggest The Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving Edited by Kingry and Devine. It goes over all the little details and gives hints etc.
