Her personality annoys me, but I can't imagine why someone who'd write this would suggest that people just go to the store and buy some preservative-filled microwave dinner over cooking something, however unclassy and unappetizing they might see her food as being. At least it's giving people some incentive to try cooking, and to use fresh foods vs. canned things all the time, and not to need precise measurements. I think she's a good starter-person for non-cooks. Most of her target audience (from what I can tell) would still be better off in their diets if they're doing what she's recommending than what they're already doing (i.e., even though her stuff is high calorie, it's still lower-calorie than what they were starting off with).
I like Alton Brown, personally, though. :D And I do like my cooks to be messy. Julia Child was my favorite for the way she slung stuff around the kitchen.
Not quite as critical! But I do want to crack her one every time I see her on TV. Her show is awful and her presence is worse. Perhaps she'll eat a few too many bites of puffer fish or touch the wrong eel in her adventures! :D
Oh, CC I just heard what happened and i am so , so sorry. I am just so saddened and i can't even imagine how much pain you must be in. I will light a special candle for you tonight and i will burn it until it all goes out. I hope you find comfort right now, i am praying for lots of it for you. I wish i could give you a big hug IRL. I would. Much peace ~ Staci
