these are SO cute! this is a silly question but I have to ask it anyways: what did you use for edging on your creations? someone called it a strip of knit fabric...does that mean you cut it yourself? or can you buy it in long strips? i used fold-over elastic which was quite narrow and the shirt turned out beyond awful so i want to try knit
thank you! it`s not silly AT ALL. i think for the longest time i made all my tees into tube tops with wide bands of fabric on the top and bottom cause i didn`t know how to do this effect either! actually, i was pretty obsessed with using edging elastic for a while too. i really liked the effect cause you can just stretch it as you sew it onto the edge, & a straight stitch was perfect for that.
anyways, i personally cut about an inch thick strip of whatever fabric (but you can buy strips if you want!). i just fold it in half, and stretch as i serge it on. before i reach the end, i stop & i make sure to close the loop of fabric and then finish serging it on.
but yeah, it turns out quite cleanly that way, but if you don`t have a serger, the elastic is what`ll work best. just practice with it on scraps! i really like elastic edging too :)
