Narcissa and Draco did, but I don’t remember Lucius doing anything to help Harry, or did I miss that?
During the Battle of Hogwarts, it's mentioned that Lucius and Narcissa are searching for Draco rather than helping the Death Eaters fight. Hardly "helpful," but I can imagine Lucius trying to spin that in his favor.
But that doesn't change the fact that Lucius did a lot of bad stuff as a Death Eater. If it's that simple Snape wouldn't have needed to bend over backwards for Dumbledore, just sit on his butt doing nothing would have sufficed.
Lady Bella: Whose murders did Voldemort use to create each of the Horcruxes J.K. Rowling: The diary - Moaning Myrtle. The cup - Hepzibah Smith, the previous owner. The locket - a Muggle tramp. Nagini - Bertha Jorkins (Voldemort could use a wand once he regained a rudimentary body, as long as the victim was subdued). J.K. Rowling: The diadem - an Albanian peasant. The ring - Tom Riddle Snr.
What, he made one of his Horcruxes after he lost his body? How does that even work? I mean, he killed Bertha when he still had that weak baby body.
Had the same thought when I read that. Then decided to just stop reading before I ended up with a headache.
Also, he apparently already made two Horcuxes (the dairy and the ring) before even asking Slughorn about them (he's wearing the ring in that memory). The more JKR says the worse it gets, even without all the plot holes that are already in the books.
Hi! I'm just journal hopping. (I recognise your name from around the place and I like your Percy icons that you made).
Superhans: What was Dudley’s worst memory? J.K. Rowling: I think that when Dudley was attacked by the Dementors he saw himself, for the first time, as he really was. This was an extremely painful, but ultimately salutary lesson, and began the transformation in him.
Um, JKR? That’s not a memory, that’s self-reflection. Sadly that you give it to Dudley and not a character who needs it more *coughHarrycough*.Word. And even though I'm glad Dudley shows growth, I'm rather pissed off how JKR NEVER has Harry making painful growth, he just waits for others to bend to him, which is the most unbelievably lazy thing to do as a writer of a bildungsroman. That and how growth for a character in the books usually requires them to learn to adore and worship Harry instead of Harry learning empathy or anything that requires painful maturity (he's the protagonist, he should be doing this!). That and no matter what JKR says, I'll

Exactly. JKR seems to think that character growth equals realizing that the sun shines out of Harry's butt and that he is always right, he doesn't need any proof or logical arguments, his word is law. And in any argument the other person has to come to Harry groveling and begging for forgiveness. When has Harry ever truly apologized to anybody? Never. And that's even though he might not start the fight, he sure as hell doesn't help resolve it and throws in some digs whenever he can (insulting Seamus' mother, telling Ron he just wants a scar, telling him to leave).
I absolutely DESPISE the fact though that she calls him the "new, improved Percy".If the new, improved Percy also always falls in line with the motto of the Weasleys that Arthur can do no wrong, then I rather have the old, outdated
