Sternbild's newest hero: Desert Tempest anonymous September 25 2011, 03:21:30 UTC
AU. Edward and Ivan never get involved in that fateful robbery or in any other sort of criminally questionable incident, so Edward graduates from the top of his class at the Hero Academy and is instantly picked up as a Hero almost right from graduation, leaving Ivan behind.

Potential topics to explore include Edward's dynamic with the rest of the Heroes we know and love as well as how his friendship with Ivan changes as a result (or doesn't change!). There's probably more, but those are a good start. Would prefer non-shippiness, but I won't bite your head off if it happens. Also, you don't have to go with the name I chose for Edward's Hero persona if you think it's stupid. ;)

Finding Origami Cyclone - Part 1/IDEK anonymous September 26 2011, 15:54:57 UTC
This is the fic I never knew I wanted so badly to write and to also have Edward somehow become a hero in a future episode.Edward and Ivan knew this day had been coming as they stood on the stage in their white uniforms for what would be the last time. In front of them sat a crowd of people, family and friends of the graduates... some having more than others. Social circles didn't always stay together when a NEXT ability was introduced. Ivan had been an example of that and Edward as well to some extent. It only meant that the friends made here were that much more precious ( ... )

Except Sky High. The King of Heroes always managed to read and give a short thank you to all of his. He was known for it.

One day, when Edward wanted nothing to do but take a nap on the couch after foiling a tough bank heist, Sky High walked in carrying a couple of large bags and a huge smile. "Is it fan mail time again?" Wild Tiger asked as he took a seat next to Edward with a steaming plate of fried rice.

"It is!" Sky High emptied the bags over the table and started to sort through them, opening the nearest envelope. It contained a flat, bright blue and yellow object. "Hey, I got an origami cyclone!" Sky High said as he picked it up for all to see. "The fans are so talented."

"A what?" Blue Rose looked up from her magazine. "What's an origami cyclone ( ... )

OH MY GOD, THIS
thank you for this, authoranon!

Besides... Ivan liked the idea that the origami shuriken took two pieces of paper. It didn't matter if they were different colors; the pieces would work together and make the origami stronger than they ever could be apart.
such beautiful imagery ahh .. BE STILL, MY HEART

Oh my god. This is the story I've wanted to both read and write (I actually have a half-started "Nothing terrible happens and Edward and Ivan become an amazing superhero team" AU sitting around) for like, weeks. But this is just so beautiful and heartbreaking yet happy and... ugh. I have a lot of love for this.

Thank you for a quick fill! I really liked that you incorporated the imagery of the shuriken ("origami cyclone", hehe) and how it represented Edward and Ivan's friendship. :)

Truth Will Out (Finding Origami Cyclone sequel) 1/3 anonymous October 3 2011, 22:18:49 UTC
Authoranon, here again with a continuation some wanted to read. I hope you enjoy it.Even from the other side of the door, the voices were still very clear, and Edward had to mask a faint smile as he entered the Heroes' common area. Everyone was in their workout gear, and Blue Rose seemed to be enthusiastically punching a dummy to death. "Argh! Who does that ninja think he is?! I didn't even get to finish my catchphrase!" The dummy reeled back from another fierce punch. "For that, I had to listen to my sponsors tell me how to do my job ( ... )

"This ends now!" Both Edwards yelled.

"Is it? Yes! It's the Desert Mirage!!" The announcer shouted as the criminal prepared to yell another sonic blast. But at which one? His head kept turning from one to the other. Which was the real one?!

"Oi! Quit naming our attacks!" were the echoed voices. They ran. A blue light enveloped both. One jumped, started to change shape, and grasped something on his back. One continued running and kicked up whirls of sand at his feet.

A glint of metal coming from above took the NEXT criminal's attention. "STAY BACK!!" he screamed, pushing the thrown shuriken back. The next thing he felt was the rough sand against his skin as Edward punched him. The criminal turned his head to yell, but Origami Cyclone landed near them, grabbed him from behind, and pressed a palm to the criminal's mouth, saving them from any more sonic blasts. His hand was then covered by Edward's. Just in case.

"And the criminal's caught!" The spotlight focused on both of them with the criminal safely apprehended ( ... )

"Bonjour, Heroes!" said Agnes as she walked in with her film crew right behind her. She waved what looked like a script or perhaps a schedule. "I thought we'd do some interviews today about yesterday's captures. The public would love to know your thoughts on our mysterious ninja Hero."

"Huh? Weren't you already here?" Wild Tiger looked over to Edward who was now awkwardly standing as tall and big as he could as something behind him glowed blue. "I thought..."

"Oh was I now...?" Agnes' brows knitted together as she glared at but not at Edward. There was no hiding from her. "Origami Cyclone!" The name caused everyone to raise their heads in recognition of the name. Though, last it had been used for a paper shuriken.

"Hai!" came a voice from behind Edward, who stepped aside to show everyone the newcomer. The glow changed in height and build, hair lightened and fluttered out every which way. Ivan pulled his neck into his shoulders like he wanted to hide in his oversized jacket. Edward merely grinned. God, how Edward ( ... )
