Timmy is a beautiful, well-adjusted boy.

Yes, because a sure sign of excellent adjustment is ogling an eleven year-old's pantsless crotch and asking your adopted father to sleep in the nude...

So up your arse with your prudish English standards, especially as I doubt the author left the tourist traps if he even visited at all.

No fuckin' kidding.

It's like some idiot saying that Dallas is safe just because they've been to the West End or Deep Ellum during the daytime*, completely forgetting that, at one point in time, Dallas was the deadliest city in the country and still gets a bit of a body count even though the death rate's plummeted in recent years.

Yeah, the West End is awesome and Deep Ellum has several nice art galleries and music venues.

But anyone whose been to Oak Cliff, or gone through Deep Ellum late at night, can tell you that Dallas has its nasty patches.

* Or, I guess, they watched a lot of Walker, Texas Ranger.

I don't care how good you are, and the author hasn't done much to show us how good Hermione is anyway.

Well, obviously she's so good she's able to juggle a wedding with exams and grading...somehow.

Do you really feel that someone who has just appeared nude on the cover of the Daily Prophet and is about to be totally exposed in a filthy rag like Playwizard Magazine is of proper moral quality to be vouching for someone’s else’s character in a custody hearing?”

Um...objection!?

Christ, Seamus is a shite lawyer.

Judge Ebony allows no objections in her court. Maybe introducing an objection makes you a prep or something. No word of how it's possible to have a fair hearing if you aren't allowed to challenge opposing counsel when they overstep the boundaries, of course. And this was completely forgotten for the bit where Seamus does in fact introduce an objection, in any case.

But if that's the case, isn't it the judge's responsibility to rein in counsels who are engaging in blatant violations of conduct like Bullchip is?

After all, we WERE told that Judge Ebony isn't the type to accept that sort of bullshit in her courtroom.

pshaw, jeremiah. that would imply neil grasps the concept of character consistency. and why would he do that when there are more long speeches about the virtues of women wandering around naked for the benefit of the men to be soapboxed?

...i just creeped myself out.

There's no reason given for why the US seems to have a fifth as many wizards by population as the UK.

No kidding. One would think the U.S., being one of the most populous nations on the planet, would have one of the largest wizarding populations as well.

You've not only got Anglo-Saxon wizards probably coming across the pond to live here, but there's also, y'know, numerous OTHER immigrant minorities coming across to the U.S. and intermingling with the Muggle population.

And lets assume that each continent and country has native populations of mages living on them*. Wouldn't that also mean that American magic users could incorporate elements of shamanism and are descended from the Amerindian mages ( ... )
