We had two great speakers/lecturers at out school this week.

One of them was Mika Launis, you probably know him from the cover illustrations of the finnish Harry Potters. The lecture was unstuctured and akward if anything:D He was embarrassing showing us pictures with out pc, cause he has ever used anything but a mac:) But I think it was great

I'm in Laurea Tikkurila, and I'm studying to be a.. medianomi:D At the moment we have classes in graphic design, art history, html/user interface design, media history and enklihs:]

I love it! It was worth the välivuosi! Got in first try.
But hey, you tell me about your studies? Are you finished/-ing your school already?

Ah, cool, I have no idea what a medianomi is. :D But your school has something to do with... art?

Me, finished with studies? Naah, I thought I'd take my time. :P No, I was going to graduate this spring, but then things got kind of difficult because of the switch into the new study system, so now I have to do a Bachelor's degree before I can do my Master's. Which sucks, because I was all ready to do my Master's thesis and I have like no classes anymore. SO now I'm just finishing my Bachelor's thesis and will continue on to the Master's after summer. And I'm doing various jobs in-between, like working as an area representative in Tampere for Allianssi.

Wow, that's a way too long answer to a simple question, my apologies. :D

No problem!I am briefed now:D Is it hard to keep your motivation/timetable when you don't have school regularly anymore?

Medianomi is... eh, noh sanotaan vaikka että tämän koulun pohjalta voisin mennä töihin lehteen taittajaksi, kuvittajaksi tai ulkoasun suunnittelijaksi, voin tehdä firmoille painotuotteiden ulkoasuja, nettisivuja ja niiden ulkoasuja, voin olla ihan vaan perus graafinen suunnittelija esimerkiksi jossain mainostoimistossa. Tai jos meen 3d-puolelle voin myös tehdä animaatioita, erikoistehosteita, elokuvien jälkikäsittelyä tai pelisuunnittelua. Hömmm, eli siis:D Vähän kaikenlaista, mutta siis visuaalisesta suunnittelusta on kyse:D Ja taiteillaan me kyllä, mutta ollaan nimenomaan media-alan ammattikorkeakoulu eikä mikään Taideteollinen. Vähän käytännönläheisempi lähestymistapa. Mut joo syksyllä tehtävänäni oli piirtää sata sientä ja nyt olen tehnyt viikon sarjakuvia että... Artsy:D Tykkään.
