School is so far, so awesome. I *still* haven't been to the Sustainability Seminar because first week I had to work, and apparently this week class was canceled or something. But Indigenous Peoples & Conservation, Forests and People, and Vegetable Production are AWESOME, and making UMass much more appealing. I'm finding that I'm really missing ( Read more... )

I'm glad you're continuing to be strong and staying with your goals! Sounds like you're getting some good advice.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how I look and what that says about me. I've been trying to get into shape, but I've also been thinking about what I wear and the piercings. Since I've been back in Anchorage, I pretty much just layer up to stay warm, so I'm not really concerned about my appearance, but I hate seeing myself in the mirror.

I wore a button-up shirt and a new jacket yesterday, and it was like a switch in my head flipped: All of a sudden, I thought, "Ok, this is an improvement." I just wish it'd be warm enough to dress the way I'd like.

Mistress is a great book, I haven't read it in a bit. I've just finished re-re-re-re-reading "Thief of Souls" by Neil Shusterman. It's the second in a set of three, but I just love all the great drama that happens in it.

Obviously, I like having my piercings, that's why I got them. I would rather leave them in an not have to fuck with them. But, now that I'm looking for work again, I don't really want them to be an issue, and they shouldn't be, but people make them an issue ( ... )

Agree with you about tattoos and earrings being no different. Just ornamentation, possibly with some significance to the bearer. Stupid to base hiring on that.

I can call you, but you're welcome to try calling me. Weekday afternoons, some evenings are best. So after 1pm my time, which I think is about 11am or afterward your time. Weekends I seem to be working nights at the moment, so prolly not after 12 your time Saturdays and Sundays. Fridays are wicked crazy, since I've been working and schooling that day.
