bye bye DLP TV

Heyos, so last night I was on my computer and there was a rather loud pop sound from the other room. Go and check out and turns out it came from the TV, not a good sign. Ok power it down and hope after 30 minutes its ok. Well it cycles and cycles and no luck. So I pull open the bulb compartment to take a look as it was a DLP, and sure enough ( Read more... )

As long you were at Best Buy you could have dropped it there. It costs $10 out of pocket, but you get a $10 gift card so it's pretty much a wash. That's how I gotctid of all the monitors and crap I found in Wolfie's computer room. They also have a bin next to the door for batteries, fluorescent bulbs, cell phones, and other small stuff that shouldn't go in a landfill.

I had actually looked and they won't take DLP TVs due to them having a mercury bulb. Hopefully the person that took the TV will be happy just getting a replacement bulb.
