[ Ino does do what she can, healing the shallow wounds, doing her best on the deeper ones, occasionally glancing over at Saya and the man whose blood she's drinking. When she finishes, she rests a hand on Hagi's shoulder, surprised at herself for not freaking out despite the bloodsucking going on, but also frustrated that she can't do anything more to help her friends. ]

[And now all Hagi could do was wait and watch, to see how well the blood would help Saya, and if Solomon would even allow them to continue. But he had relaxed somewhat, relieved now that Saya would at least have the strength to survive. That was all that mattered to him.]

Explained it all...? Saya told him what to do?

[Solomon could only stare at the other man, not even aware of his having been moved out of the way so the stranger could feed Saya his life's blood.

Who was he to her? This man that she clung to so tightly as she fed. Someone she'd only known for such a short amount of time, just a few weeks and he was already in such a position that she was willing to drink of his blood. Were they really that close?

The memory of his own offer having been rejected flashed in his mind. Another knife in the heart. It was the only thing that made sense. This strange man showing up and tending to her in such a way, being allowed into her life in a way that Solomon hadn't... was that why she had really turned down his proposal? Was this man... her lover? He must have been more than a mere friend to have moved aside Solomon's efforts after he'd identified himself as her doctor. Nothing else made sense...

[Saya continues to feed for a moment, then pulls away, seeming to come to her senses slowly. She looks confused, at first, then intense worry flashes across her features and she attempts to jolt upright - and fails.]

Hagi! Hagi, you're--

[She realizes that he actually looks much better than she would have expected, courtesy of Ino.] Oh, I'm so glad you're all right... [Of course, she quickly notices the taste of blood in her mouth - most obviously not her blood, or Hagi's - and she looks confused again, until she sees Sam's arm. Saya's eyes widen in horror, then quickly darken in self-loathing.]

I'm fine, Saya. [He continues to prop her up, though not moving to help her to her feet just yet. He falls silent quickly enough, watching as she realizes just who had given her blood. Tensing subconsciously, but not enough to be noticed at her tone of voice.]

Yes... I could not help you, Saya. But he could. [Hagi can't help but give him a small grateful glance, not that the human would notice.] ... Can you stand?

[Breathing was difficult as he stared at the situation. The shock was so much that he hardly listened to what was going on around him. All he knew was that he was the outsider of the group, as he always had been when it came to Saya. Was he even needed? And if not, then what purpose did he have anymore?]
