It was on my Netflix queue. I watched it last night. Good stuff! Forgot all about Pee Wee Herman's cameo as the arcade attendant with the quarter-dispensing pistol.
I, too, thought we were supposed to name a 'new' movie. And it looks like shlafe and I are on the same wavelength. The rest of you, shame, shame for *not* choosing the best movie ever made.
Kurosawa's film (or it's remake, The Magnificent Seven) is arguably the basis for all ensemble films made today. We'd never have any of the Ocean's movies, Rat Pack or Clooney, without the story of seven ronin banding together for common purpose.
And its influence goes beyond film. Look at team-based comic books, like Justice League. Whether Kurosawa or Tolkein deserves more credit for party-based roleplaying games, that's hard to say.
