Unless there's some major damage that isn't visible, it should definitely be repairable. Based on everyone's favorite car part search engine, sheet metal and plastic should come to $600ish (bumper, $100; hood, $200; fender,$100; headlight, $50; plus whatever else they need to replace under the hood). Labor varies from market to market, but it's usually much less than what your mechanic charges - in my experience, about 1/3 of what my mechanic charges.
In short, you should be good to go.

Oh btw Ben: Most modern rearview mirrors have two adjustment points instead of one. Check for a 2-3inch rod with ball joints on each end, you may be able to raise your mirror by pushing upwards on that rod.
