In all seriousness, yes, you are. I haven't created any new *worlds* in my novels, exactly, just sort of a new reality, if that makes any sense, but I DO get what you mean about just sort of making it all up and I'll fix it later.
I've probably got my mythology all wrong here, but I remember a story about a Gordian Knot, and all sorts of people tried to untie it, and finally somebody came along all "WTF!" and cut it in half with his sword. Sometimes you just have to keep swinging that sword and work out the little knots later on.
