God it's been something like November since I posted here, and that was for a fic so let's see.

"Homicide: Life On The Street" was one of the best television shows PERIOD. A friend turned me onto it in high school and I fell in love with the early seasons -- towards the end I wasn't so crazy with some of the casting changes, but the early stuff was brilliant.

Yeah the emphasis on increased pretty in the actors toward the end was disheartening but damn if Tim Bayliss and Frank Pembleton's amazing run all the way through wasn't just my favorite thing from last month (when I watched it all :D )

Pembleton and Bayliss are, to this day, one of my all time favourite tv pairings. They were brilliant together and their interrogation scenes have never been matched by any other show (IMO).

Yeah, the attempt to pretty the cast towards the end was unfortunate. It's one of the reasons I'm extra stoked to see Melissa Leo doing so well with her filmography, especially her recognition right now for "The Fighter". One of the things I loved about her character on "Homicide: Life on the Streets" was that she didn't fit the mold for how a female character should look. She was great at her job, but she looked like she was her job, not walking a runway.
