Hyoyeon stood under the the road bridge, glancing around for traffic and finding none. Satisfied, she plugged her earphones in and dropped her iPod into the pocket of her hoodie, starting to dance. Popping, moving, twirling, just moving was her forte.
Popping, moving, twirling, just moving was her forte.
She had to stop and move out of the way of cars twice.
She did that three times a week, under this near-deserted road bridge, where no-one could see her.
Almost.
"Good evening."
Hyoyeon turned, pulled an earphone out and hit pause. She hesitated at the man watching her and pulled up beside her, leaning out of his car window.
"Hello?"
He smiled. "You do this often?"
Again, hesitation. No talking to strangers at one in the morning.
"I dance too," he said, climbing out of his car. "I'm Hyukjae."
"Hyoyeon." First name wasn't too much trouble, right? And in just a few moments it was apparent the man wasn't lying when he said he could dance.
"I know a cafe open at this time."
"Trying to pick me up, dancer?"
A smile. "Perhaps."

"Hello! Annyeong haseoyo! Konnichiwa! Bonjour! Ni hao!"
"Donghae, what are you doing?"
Donghae turned around with wide, bright eyes. "Saying hello!"
"To who?"
Donghae pointed off the balcony. "Those people down there."
Kyuhyun scoffed. "They can't hear you, don't be ridiculous."
"Does it matter? Sometimes all it takes is a smile for peoples' days to get better," Donghae retorted.
"They can't see you either; no one's looking up!"
Donghae turned back to him and pouted. "Well someone's a grouch today," he muttered, then beamed and tackled his dongsaeng into a hug. "GOOD MORNING KYUHYUNNIE-AH! Ohayou! Salut~!" he peppered the acne-scarred cheek with little kisses.
"DONGHAE! GET OFF!" Kyuhyun flailed, stumbling inside, trying to hide the blush on his cheeks.

Seohyun was a model student. Quiet, polite, and she worked hard at her studied. Hyoyeon, on the other hand, was loud, raucous, and the only thing she spent any effort on was her dancing. Who did people like better? Of course, Hyoyeon.
Seohyun couldn't deny that she was a little bit jealous of the extroverted girl. She was satisfied with herself; she worked hard, she gained the results of that work and adults liked her. But she would really like someone her age to respect her, at least a little.
She rounded a corner and collided with something.
"FUCKING OUCH!"
Seohyun blinked at the loud swear and hurried to help the older girl to her feet. "I'm sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going, are you alright?" she gushed, though it wasn't her fault; Hyoyeon had been the one looking over her shoulder as she marched past the corner.
"I'm alright," Hyoyeon, said picking herself up and dusting herself off, handing Seohyun a book she'd dropped. "Hey, I'm Hyo."
"I- I know," Seohyun stammered shyly. "I'm Seohyun."
"Nice bumping into ya," Hyoyeon smirked, and waved.
And then she was gone.

"Come with me~," Ryeowook sang and grabbed Zhou Mi by the hand, dragging him outside. Zhou Mi was too surprised to resist as he stumbled after the shorter man, leaving Eunhyuk and Donghae behind, staring after them in surprise.
"Ah, Li Xu, where are we going?" Zhou Mi finally asked as they exited the building and Ryeowook released his death grip on the Chinese man's wrist.
"Outside," Ryeowook replied simply.
"Why?"
Ryeowook just smiled and tangled his fingers with Zhou Mi's. Completely platonically.
Completely.
"Why?" Zhou Mi repeated after a few moments, wondering if Ryeowook had heard him.
"When was the last time you just went for a walk?" Ryeowook asked quietly, tipping his head back. "When was the last time you breathed in this night air, or just... just looked up at the sky?"
Zhou Mi also tilted his head back, looking up where Ryeowook's gaze was fixed. The night was clear, the moon misshapen in its almost-fullness, sitting in a sea of pinprick stars.
"I think," Ryeowook murmured, giving Zhou Mi's fingers a squeeze, "We should take more time to look at the stars."
"They're beautiful," Zhou Mi agreed softly.
Ryeowook didn't reply, eyes roaming over the deep blue heavens above them. A flash caught his eye and he giggled.
"Make a wish," he whispered, and closed his eyes.

Stand here and name the one you loved,
Under the drifting ashes
And in naming, rise above time
As it, flashing, passes
Henry walked across the ground, warm ash clouding the air around each bare footstep, and along with dust swirling around his form and making his eyes water.
But it wasn't just the irritation that made his tears track down his cheeks as he plodded his lonely way across the battlefield that had once been what he called home. Now all it was was blackened, bloodstained debris dotted with small fires. He caught the silhouettes of the other survivors sorting through the wreckage. The polluted air caught in his throat and he coughed.
"Henli... Henli-ah! Henli! Is that you?"
Henry raised his face and saw a figure barreling toward him through the devastation, and when confirming his identity, crushed his ribs in a trembling embrace.
"Henli... Henli... oh, god..."
Henry clutched back at the older man, sobbing brokenly into his shoulder and feeling his own shoulder dampened by the other's tears.
"Why?" He managed to choke out. "Why here? Why did this happen, hyung?"
The older just clutched at his shirt and shook his head. "Are you hurt, Henli-ah?"
Physically? "N-no. I'm okay, Min-hyung. But..." he bit his lip and nuzzled in further.
Sungmin raised his head and surveyed the landscape. Grey. Everything was so grey. Grey, black and fiery. Images from just hours ago burned his eyes and he tried to drown them with tears.
"Gone..." He whispered.
Henry whimpered.
"It's all gone..."
"Hyung... your brother...?"
Sungmin's heart shattered and Henry could see it when he pulled back to look at his face. His own family was alright, he'd left his little sister with his brother while he went to scout around and they were fine.
But Sungmin's brother...
"Hyung... I..." He didn't know what to say. 'I'm sorry'?
Sungmin fell to his knees with a crunch. He raised his face to the red-tinted sky and grabbed something near him, burning his palms. He barely felt the pain as he clenched his eyes shut and screamed, the cry the sound of a broken, bleeding heart.

"And we'll send you a postcard from every single city!"
Kibum just smiled lightly and nodded, hands in his pockets as Donghae bounced around him excitedly.
"I'll buy you lots of presents! So wait for them, okay?" Donghae continued. Kibum understood he meant 'wait for me', and caught the elder's arm to stop his circles, pulling him into a tight hug.
"Have fun," he mumbled into his shoulder.
Donghae grinned. "We will! Ah... I wish you were coming to watch us, Kibummie," he sighed.
"I can't, hyung."
"I know, but still..." Donghae squeezed him then pulled back and pouted.
"I'll be watching you on TV," Kibum promised.
"Oh!" Donghae's grin returned full-force. "Yay! Well, I'll still be able to perform for you, then!"
Kibum nodded and smiled as Eunhyuk had to drag Donghae away to the rest of the dance team so they didn't miss their flight.
"Bye, Kibummie! I'll miss you heaps! Don't have too much fun without me! And don't watch any movies I wanted to see!"
Kibum chuckled to himself and just waved as Donghae disappeared into the gate. His hand dropped back into his pocket and he walked to the window, scanning each of the small squares in the plane until he saw Donghae's face slam into one of them and peer out at the airport.
He pressed his palm against the glass and moved it in an arc, watching Donghae's face light up as his attention was caught. He waved frantically at him and blew a kiss.
Kibum rolled his eyes to himself seeing Eunhyuk wrestle Donghae into a sitting position and do up his seatbelt for him.
"I'll miss you too, Donghae-ah..."

Slut, dirty whore, bastard, bitch, fucker, Sungmin was used to the names. He didn't care anymore and just responded to them with a cocky smirk.
"Maybe so, but I'll still be wanted by more people than your pathetic little self."
"Do you even realize how fake you are?" a harsh voice snapped.
"Sungmin raised his eyebrows and tilted his head, indicating the tall man to continue.
"You think you're going to be all pretty and sexy forever. You think you'll never lose all this attention, do you?"
"How does that make me fake, Siwon? I don't follow."
Siwon glared at him. "Do you even have a heart, Sungmin?"
"Emotions are overrated," Sungmin said flippantly, sidling up to Siwon and pecking his cheek. The younger man jerked away and slapped him away, eyes angry and sad.
"You're only hurting yourself, Sungmin."
"I'm not unhappy, Siwon. You're the one who's hurting."
Siwon opened and closed his mouth a few times. "I... you..."
Sungmin sighed. "Get to the point, will you? I have someone to see."
Siwon grabbed Sungmin and slammed him against the wall. "Yes, okay, I am hurting, Sungmin! Don't you care at all?" he screamed in his face. "I just don't want you to be thrown on the street once you've served your 'purpose' here."
Sungmin glanced at his watch and shoved Siwon off him. "I don't care, don't worry yourself. I can look after myself," he replied coldly and stalked off, hips swaying temptingly and leaving Siwon to clench his fists and drop his head.
Alone.

"To life!"
"TO LIFE!" the drunken cheer met Kangin's words and the others around him laughed and downed their drinks. But he only had eyes for one. The slender brunet on the end of the bar, the one cheerfully but still half-heartedly echoing their toast. He sidled over and shoved a random whoever off the barstool next to the younger so he could sit beside him.
"Kyuhyun-ah, you're not drunk."
"Well noticed," the younger drawled, sipping at his drink. "You, on the other hand..."
Kangin blinked several times and then frowned. "You are not very much fun when you're sober."
Kyuhyun leant one elbow on the sticky bartop and leant his chin on his hand. "Well, buy me a drink and we'll see what we can do, hmm?" he suggested in a sultry whisper, leaning forward to lightly peck Kangin's beer-flavoured lips.
Kangin's eyes widened and he tried to capture Kyuhyun's kiss properly, but Kyuhyun slipped his hand between them and held him back.
"Na-ah," he chided, eyes sparkling. "Drink first. Then we talk." He moved his hand down to Kangin's neck and caressed it. "Or not," he offered suggestively.
Kangin's alcohol-laced blood shot to either his crotch or face and he turned away. "Yeah, could we have two more here," he demanded of the bartender in a strangled voice, and Kyuhyun smiled in satisfaction.

Ryeowook slumped down against his door as his boyfriend towered over him, screaming. He could feel the tears on his cheeks but inside he felt numb. He couldn't take it anymore, he couldn't deal with Heechul's violent drunkenness. He couldn't deal with the screams, the shoves, the beatings.
It was Kangin all over again.
"No... No, hyung... please...!" He sobbed as Heechul grabbed him and roughly hauled him to his feet.
"SHUT UP, YOU PIECE OF SHIT," the older man shrieked, spit flying everywhere, his breath proving that he'd had more than too much. "YOU DIRTY SLUT!"
Ryeowook could only close his eyes and beg for mercy he knew was not to come.
"All you have to do is leave," was the first thing Sungmin said, in a gentle whisper, as he caught sight of the fresh bruises on his friend's face.
"It's alright. As soon as he's slept it off it's fine."
"That's not alright, Wookie," Sungmin said sternly. "Who cares what he's like when he's sober, when he obviously can't think enough to not drink again?"
Ryeowook shook his head. "Honestly, hyung, it's not that big a deal."
Sungmin would have slapped him in any other situation, but he couldn't raise his hand against the pale, purple-splotched boy in front of him.
"You need to leave," he said urgently, squeezing his hands. "You can't let him do this to you."
Ryeowook said nothing, new tears spilling from his eyes.
"What can I do, though, hyung? He'll follow if I leave. No-one leaves Kim Heechul."
Sungmin trailed his fingers over Ryeowook's face.
"I'll take care of you; I promise, I promise, Wookie. But you have to be strong for me."
"I'm not strong." Ryeowook bit his already split lip. "I'm not strong, I can't leave him, it's not worth what he'd get me back with."
"Trust me." Sungmin said simply. "Trust me, please. Please get away from him."
I will save you.

Henry pushed his mop across the floor and sighed. What a stupid move. Becoming a cleaner for the agency in the vague hope that someone in this massive place might notice him, notice his potential? Stupid.
"Stupid, stupid, stupid," he muttered, and leant against the wall. And the other reason, his major celebrity crush, Zhou Mi. Even stupider. He'd worked as a cleaner here for a month and a half and still hadn't seen the man except for on screens. The closest he'd ever gotten was vacuuming the corridor outside his dressing room.
He kept muttering to himself in his head as he pushed his cart down the hall, heading for one particular room. Tonight he had a plan. Tonight he was going to 'accidentally' interrupt the star's after-hours practice.
"Oh! Hello," a surprised, light voice said as Henry appeared in the room behind his cart. "Sorry, I didn't realize you had reached down here just yet."
"Oh, no," Henry protested. "Don't worry, I'll go... do some other rooms while you finish up," he responded automatically, dumbstruck just by being this close to his idol.
But Zhou Mi could recognize the expression and the blush and the stammer. He smiled. "Are you new? Have you replaced Ryeowook?
Henry blinked at the name of his predecessor. "You knew him?" he asked in surprise.
"Of course, he worked here for a long time," Zhou Mi smiled. "About time he moved on, there's so much more he's capable of. Anyway, I knew him quite well; even after he'd done all the rooms on this corridor sometimes I wouldn't be quite done so he'd watch me while he waited to clean this place." He smiled his dazzling smile that left Henry breathless.
"O-oh... I... ah," He stammered oh-so-eloquently.
"What got you working here?" Zhou Mi asked curiously.
"Well... uh... it pays," Henry shuffled awkwardly.
Zhou Mi regarded him for a long moment. "I see," he said softly. "Sorry, I didn't get your name. I'm Zhou Mi."
Henry stared at him for a moment. Did the man seriously think he didn't know who he was? Or was he just being modest?
"Henry," he blurted out as soon as he realized he hadn't answered the question. "Henry Lau. I mean. Lau Henry, Lau is my surname, I'm just from Canada so I'm used to-" He shut himself up abruptly and flushed. "I'll... just go get on with my work..." he mumbled.
"Oh, Hanri?"
"Y-yes?"
Another dazzling smile and Henry's knuckles went white on the handles.
"Nice to meet you, I hope we'll see each other often," Zhou Mi finished his sentence.
Henry squeaked out something in reply and shut the door behind him.
