Two weeks ago a pair of robins started building a nest in the ladder on our porch. We wondered if they'd built this crazy-ass nest only to abandon it. Today I saw a robin with his/her butt parked on the nest. I almost didn't notice it as I went from my hallway to the garage. Maybe there'll be babies soon!

Lehigh University has been overrun by stinkbugs. That entry I made two and a half years ago about the "World's Stupidest Shield Bug" was indeed about a stinkbug. Apparently, because they've come from Asia, they've no predators here. A few articles I've read say there is no insecticide that gets rid of them. This afternoon I heard a loud chirping from the front yard. We have a lot of birds about, so I didn't think much of it. Every thirty seconds or so it would cheep. I got some Stonybrook Farms yogurt yesterday and Fawn decided I needed to torture her with feed her some. So she stood up, sunk her li'l claws into my knee, and washed the yogurt off the lid of the container, lickety-split.
