Apparently I accidentally set up jIqel with PhonePost settings that are the same as this journal's, so when I posted twice this afternoon they ended up over there. And I can't get them back here. So here:

Glad you made it home! What did Scooty have to say about it, did he agree? I've had my alternator go on ever car I've owned up up the van. Went twice on the cavalier. It's a pain in the arse, but a good clue (for the future) is if you turn on the radio and the lights dim, you're running out of juice. :) One would think I would have noticed that sooner and NOT gotten stranded 3 times by dead alternators. one would, of course, be wrong. ;)

Don't know yet. He said he should be able to get to it in a couple days, so hopefully I'll have SuDoy back in time to take him to gaming. I'll find out what it is when Scooty calls to tell me the car's ready. I never had the dimming until I tried to start the car after I'd driven it and it had sat for a little while. Between ten and twenty minutes, I'd wager. Less time sitting and it would start. Let it sit longer and it'd start. They're gonna test the charging system, so if there's any trouble along there anyplace, they ought to find it. With luck I won't need an entirely new alternator. I just replaced the distributor in July! D:
