Yes! You are totally on a roll. These were wonderful. Spot on with the characters and your trade mark ability to rip my heart out with a few sentences. The 1st one gave us Lindsay at her manipulative best. The 2nd shows us a lonely little boy who understands much more than he should at his age and what he understands hurts. Your Gus can always make me cry. The 3rd sums up Brian's past present and future. My only complaint is they were way to short. I always want more. Lyn
I've actually just been finishing the ficlets on my drive. I have about five more to go, but they promise to be a bit longer. They're also a little more AU than all of these.
My hope is to get back into the swing of things and get used to a writing schedule again so that when NaNo comes around again I'm in better shape.
It was either start writing again or queen out about my choice to detox myself from fic.
I ran into about eleven different authors who, in the space of two months, all decided to abandon their fic or updated with the most ridiculous crap.
I just couldn't take the emotional investment in WIPs anymore so I decided to read only complete fic, but, as you know there aren't that many good, finished fic so, I decided to focus on finishing up the unfinished stories on my drive. I have about five ficlets left (including my cat one) and The Mask.
That and I'm keeping a list of stories I want to read when finished up.
I saw the prompt, and the only things that came to mind were grass, money, and envy. I decided writing about one of the seven deadly was more interesting than grass.
Wow! These are brilliant. So much in each short story. So much emotion and power. #1 Lindsay at her manipulative best. #2 My heart broke for Gus. #3 Loved the then and now of it.

"And to a little boy whose blood related grandparents were dead or pretended he didn't exist, it hurt more than he cared to admit."
