My grandparents were from the south and every New Year’s Eve there was traditional dishes of some sort of pork, black-eyed peas or hoppin’ john, collard or turnip greens and cracklin’ cornbread. World Trade Center 11 years later
I'm amazed after 11 years since that nightmare day, I still find myself watching the tribute and the family members reading the names then breaking down in tears when I hear the outpouring of emotion in their trembling voices. Even when they speak in another language, it still hits me right in the heart.

This was written close to 30 years ago. It's amazing how it still has meaning today. I've seen some outrageous, downright racist stuff in here, so if someone is offended by these words, tough. Often enough, the truth hurts.

Rest in Peace Violet
They captured her and tried to save her leg. Then after the surgery, she had a heart attack. I really liked Violet, the news of her death was really enough to make me cry.
