[The communication feed starts with a nice shot of... absolutely nothing. It turns out that whoever was holding it was obscuring the camera, before a finger taps the screen and exposes the upper half of his body as seen from below to the camera. It's clear by this point that whoever's working this communicator has absolutely no idea how it works ( Read more... )

[ Misa has been sort of keeping quiet, even over the communicators, but she can't help but stare when she spots this message. It's very weird to her, after all, since.. ]

Don't tell me you don't even know what these things are! What do you come from, medieval times?

Huh? [He's looking around again, before staring at the communicator.]

I don't have these things where I come from. [He thinks to himself. It can talk?]

But they're a little like bigger cellphones, right? Cellphones! Or even tiny computers!

Everyone knows what those are.

[A different voice!

Though he sounds a little discouraged...]

She wasn't? Then where is she?

Probably back in your world...

My world?

Eh... we were just in Japan, I don't think I could have left the entire world.

It's a thing you can use to talk to people when they're far away!

[There's no small hint of pride in Aisling's voice as she says this. Even though she only figured out how to use hers a few days ago...]

Eeh... is that what this is?

[He holds it up to his face... ah.] That would explain those faces and pictures I saw. I've never seen anything like this before.

I didn't either, until I got here.

This is more convenient than having someone else send a letter, so maybe it's better that I keep it. [sage nod!]

It's good to know someone else didn't know what it was though. Everyone else thought it was weird that I hadn't seen anything like this before.

If you would be so kind as to give me a moment of your time...

[ And she promptly switches the feed from video to text. ]

[Shichika takes a moment out to read through all of this. He naturally didn't know the true use of the communicator until someone spoke up and brought it to his attention, and he hadn't really noticed the crown until he read about it.

The idea of the faeries seemed a little farfetched, but that was mainly because he hadn't actually met a faerie. While he took a moment to wonder why he couldn't just use Kyotouryuu, he felt he should at least keep reading it. If the situation was that bad, then maybe it was good that Togame wasn't here, though in his case, it felt odd knowing that he was separated from her like that.

He thought about the Watch, and how that would give him something to do and how he could help out, but for now, he really just wanted to get situated.]

Thank you. [She gave her name too, plus she's a part of the welcoming committee...]

I'm the seventh head of Kyotouryuu, Shichika Yasuri.

[ It takes her roughly three seconds to shift the feed from text to video, at which point she offers him a widening small tinged with cordiality as she inclines her head slightly forward, then checks it. ]

You're welcome, Mr. Yasuri. I'm unfamiliar with the Kyoutouryuu as it's likely we're from separate worlds. Would you mind explaining for me? [ A beat. ] And if you feel I can be of further assistance to you at a later date, please don't hesitate to contact me.

[He doesn't anticipate the change, though he doesn't switch facial expressions as a result.] I didn't know it could change that easily.

[He's a bit surprised. He's never really had to explain Kyotouryuu to anyone, considering most people he ran into in Japan already knew what it was. That must be how distant these worlds are.]

It's a sword style that I've inherited from my family's bloodline. Ah, actually, I guess it's more of me being a part of a line of swords in my family.
