BioWare Staff Are People Too

"This might seem a bit of an odd thing to post, but I think it's something we should all bear in mind, especially with ME3 just round the corner. Thankfully, this community is almost always civil, and a generally nice place to hang out - however, anyone who frequents the BioWare Social Network will know the sort of things people can spout when they ( Read more... )

Ack. I can be pretty passionate on occassion about game devs pandering to the lowest common denominator--they have to, after all, it's GAMING, right? But while freedom of expression is a right for everyone, being civil in the discourse is kind of expected of adults. Ms. Hepler proved to be a writer who is refreshingly able to see things from a different gamer demographic's perspective, and I'd prefer her to stay alive for many more years being productive and entertain us with her writing. I am glad the BioWare team united behind her in public.

On a personal level, I would be THRILLED to be able to skip some of the more frustrating combat scenes to be able to savor more of the RP and dialogs/cutscenes. heck, I am known to sweat and swear profusely during those cursed time-constrained action scenes, and let me tell you, it's not fun for those around me.

I agree. I don't play these games for the combat, I play for the story. I usually only ever play on Casual or Normal, and I have no qualms about adjusting the difficulty if I get too frustrated with a combat scene.

Now I don't agree with ALL of the decisions that have been made by the Bioware writing staff (especially in the last few years) but I certainly would NEVER go on some rampage and harass this woman. Why can't people have conversations anymore without it becoming utter (and utterly hurtful) insanity? That's just terrible . . .
