“Ne, what can we do now?” the penguin boy ask his friends one afternoon. They have played some games in the game center and did so many things to killing time, but still, they are bored again.
“I also don’t know, Dai-chan,” Chinen sighs.
“How about some cakes?” asked Yamada with a smile. Chinen and Daiki look directly at him. “Well, my mom made strawberry shortcake and some others cookies. Wanna try?”
“OF COURSE,” said Chinen and Daiki at the same time. Yamada just chuckled when he sees it, because Chinen and Daiki are so excited. Well, they go to Yamada’s house, greet Mrs. Yamada, and then go to that brown haired boy’s bedroom.
“Guys, I’ll leave you for awhile, ok? I’ll take some cakes and juice for you. Feel free to make yourself comfortable.” said Yamada and leave them alone in the room. They keep silent and wait. Chinen lay on Yamada’s bed. He is rolling on it while Daiki is looking at Yamada’s manga collection. There are so many manga in his bookcase. Daiki look at it so carefully. Chinen is curious too, so he comes closer to Daiki and looking for a manga to kill time. They stop with a manga. Their hands touched each other, but Chinen’s hand has reached it first. He wanted to pick it up, but Daiki hold him. That penguin guy also wants to read the same manga.
“I found it first,” said the penguin guy.
“Iie, I’m first.” said Chinen and he takes it with him.
“No I am,” said Daiki and he try to grab it from Chinen. But Chinen try harder to hold it on him. Both of them try hard to get it. ‘Why don’t you read another manga?” asked Daiki.
“I’m not interested in another manga. Why don’t you get another one?” Chinen said and grab the manga towards him.
“I have read all of them, demo….not this one.” Daiki grab that manga to him. They pull that manga to each other and suddenly…..the manga is torn. They look to each other in shocked. Dimly, they heard footsteps. They’re panic and take a seat as fast as they can. Then the door open.
“Aaa….gomen ne, to make you two waits so long.” Yamada comes with a tray full of cookies and cakes and three glasses of strawberry juice. He puts it on the table and let his friend take it. But neither Daiki or Chinen takes it. They still feel sorry though they can’t speak out the problem. They keep hiding the manga and try to sit calmly. They’re hiding the manga under Yamada’s bed. “What’s wrong with you guys? Weren’t you so excited before? Just take it! Don’t be shy to me!?”
“Ha-hai.” Daiki takes a cookie and a small bite.
“What happened? Did something happen?” Yamada stare on Daiki.
“N-no. I think there’s nothing wrong.” Chinen keep silent as Yamada sit beside him. That chibi take a cookie and also takes a small bite while Daiki talk with Yamada. He eats it slowly bite by bite and still keep silent. He doesn’t want to screw up everything and let Daiki talk to Yamada.
“Oi chibi.” Yamada call Chinen, but Chinen still keep silent. “It’s weird,” both of Chinen and Daiki stare at each other as heard that.
“W-what do you mean, Ryo-chan?” asked Chinen.
“Normally, you will be mad and scold me when I called you ‘chibi’, demo….today…”
“W-well, you always do that, so-so I think I’m used for it.” that chibi drinks his strawberry juice.
“Souka…” Yamada looks disappointed. Then he looks at Daiki. “Ne Dai-chan, I want to show you something.” Chinen and Daiki are frozen.
“W-what’s this it, Yama-chan?”
“Matte, I’ll take it or you.” Yamada go to his bookcase and looking for something. “Ma ma….where is it?” Yamada talk to himself without realizing his friends want to go out from his room secretly. “Hey, where are you going?” he stop them as he saw them wanting to go out of his room. “Don’t you want to eat some more cookies?”
“We-we are done I guess, ne Chii?!” said Daiki.
“U-un,” Chinen nod hesitantly.
“Eee??? Maji de?”
“U-un,” nodded the both of Chinen and Daiki.
“Matte yo, Dai-chan. I said I want to show you something deshou?” he back to his bookcase. “I’ll find it for you.” he still looking for something, but he can’t find what he’s looking for. “Ne…. did you two see my manga. I think I put it here. I just bought the new one yesterday. The seller said it’s a limited edition. I’m so glad that I can get it.” Yamada went back to his bookcase and looks for that manga. But, he still can’t find it. Chinen and Daiki were standing near the door at that time. They’re ready to run away when Yamada gets mad. They still want that cookies and strawberry juice, but….impossible for them to get out of Yamada’s room when he’s mad. And….that manga is his favorite manga. It might be hard to calm him. “Ah, there it is.” he finds his manga under his bed. He pick it up, but the manga is already torn. When he want to yell at both of Chinen and Daiki, they are already gone leaving the mad Yamada alone in his room.
“Baka, why should we run away?” grumbled Chinen as they run away from that brown hair boy’s house. They walk without any destination, maybe only their home is being their destination.
“So you want to get scold and yelled by him all day? Well….I don’t want to. If you want, you can go back to him. But, I’m not.” said Daiki.
“So…what are we gonna do now?”
“I don’t know.” that penguin guy said and crossing his hands behind his head. He walk while staring at the beautiful sky.
“What if we look for it in some bookstore? We buy the same manga to change his torn manga?”
“Didn’t you hear him?”
“Huh?”
“It’s limited edition. Li-…mit….-ed.”
“Demo Dai-chan,” the black hair boy stops his step “Maybe there’s a bookstore that still has it. Who knows? How do we know before trying it?!” it stop Daiki’s step. His hands dropped and he turns his body to that little squirrel. He can see Chinen still feel sorry about it, just like him. That squirrel looks at his feet while talking to Daiki. “Maybe we can get one with us.” said Chinen. Daiki come closer and pat Chinen’s head.
“Well, like you said, who knows they still sell it or not before we try to looking for it ne.” Daiki smile. “Let’s find it.”
“So..” Chinen look up and he can see Daiki nod to him. Broad smile plastered on his face now. “Un,” he nods with enthusiasm.
It’s being the busy time for them in the afternoon. They separated and looking for that manga in some bookstores. They run here and there to find it, but it’s too difficult to find it. It’s a rare manga since its limited edition. Chinen almost give up when he can’t find that manga. Then he sees something more interesting, more than a manga.
“What if I give him this one? I think he will forgive me.” he chuckles as he think about it. Suddenly his cell phone is ringing. He picks it. “Moshi mosh, Chinen de-….”
“Oi, chibi,” it’s Daiki voice. He interrupted Chinen.
“Don’t call me chibi, baka penguin.”
“Oi, you also call me ‘baka penguin’. How dare you?!”
“Forget it. Why are you calling me? Have you found it?”
“Hai, finally I got it.” Daiki scream on the phone. “I have bought it. Should we go to Yamada and ask him to forgive us??”
“You go first. I still need to do something at here. I will go to him after that.”
“Ok. Jaa.”
“Un, Jaa.”
It’s not take a long time for Daiki to reach Yamada and ask for forgiveness, but it doesn’t happened to Chinen. He comes a little bit late. It’s already evening when he comes to visit Yamada. It because he bought the book that interested him. He really wants to give it to Yamada, because he knows Yamada will like that book so much, more than his manga. He comes to him with something in his hand. He smirks as he pushes the house bell. Yamada come and he is confused as he looks at Chinen coming so late to his house.
“Konbanwa….” greeted Chinen.
“Chii?” Yamada looks surprised. “What are you doing here?”
“May I come in?”
“Huh? Sure you can. Come in.” Yamada let that chibi come to his house and Chinen give him the book that he bought before. It’s wrapped in paper bag. He didnt’t come to Yamada’s house, only stay in his yard. “What’s this?” Yamada confused.
“Something good for you. I think you will like it.”
“Huh?”
“Well, it’s just a magazine.” Chinen point onto the thing he gave to Yamada. “Demo…. I know you will like it. And……I hope you forgive me because I was also responsible for your torn manga. Gomen nasai.” he bowed. “I don’t mean to-…”
“You don’t need to feel sorry, because I have forgiven you.” Yamada pinch Chinen’s nose. “I’m ok with it since both of you confessed about it to me.” Yamada chuckles. “Well….what is this?” Yamada looks at that paper bag.
“Magazine.” replied Chinen shortly.
“Can I open it?”
“Un,” Chinen nod, “sure you can.”
Yamada is so excited when he opens it. It’s just like a gift for him. He’s blushing as he saw what’s in that paper bag. “This is…..” Yamada looks at Chinen who smile broadly.
“You like it, deshou?”
“Ha-hai, um……” Yamada said in blushing hard.
“Well, I think it’s better than porn magazine, deshou?” Chinen chuckles, but not with Yamada. He is still blushing hard. He’s speechless. Actually, he really wanted that magazine for a long time, but he can’t buy it since he also wanted to buy that limited manga. Now, he’s really happy to have it though he’s speechless.
