Ah, nice story. I thought with a SPN cross it might contain some gruesome stuff but was pleasantly surprised that it was a slice of life (or should that be slice of pie?) story. One of my favorite genres. Nice OCs too and nice research on the apples. Thank you for an enjoyable read.
Annie's artwork really complemented the story. Good job Annie! Looks like you had a lot of fun working with Sue.
Thank you so much for the loc, glad you enjoyed this 'slice of pie' story. I understand about the gruesome factor, too. When I first got hooked on Supernatural my motto was "I hate horror, but I love Supernatural."
This was fun! Although I'm definitely craving apple pie with only grocery store pie as an option. :-(
It was great that Jim and Dean met under non-work circumstances and we got to see them have a good time. For a while I thought you were going for Dean as a sentinel but then realized it was just great genetics as befits someone bred as an archangel vessel. Jim would totally think Dean was a punk and I'm glad Dean got a little vacation while getting laid. *g* Very feel good fic.
Thanks for reading and loc'ing, glad you enjoyed my story. Dean's not a Sentinel, he's just very well trained and overly experienced in all things hunt-related--and he's very fond of apple pie;-) I needed to give Dean an intro that explained his world for any readers unfamiliar with SPN, while keeping the pie contest a major part of the story. Your comments tell me that I kept SPN-savvy people interested in the story, too;-) I love "feel good" movies like Strictly Ballroom, My Favorite Year and Enchanted, so I'm tickled that you found this a "feel good fic."
Thanks for reading and reviewing. Ah, were you watching SPN from the beginning, or picked it up somewhere in the middle? Because Supernatural is a show that has changed considerably since its beginning years. Glad you liked the shooting competition, that was the most fun scene to write.
