Convenience.

Fast food, all-in-one packages, on-the-go gadgets, buy 2 save 1 dollar, meal-replacement bars....  Sometimes it feels like we just buy shit because it screams "I'm convenient!"

definitely! i hate all the commercials that say things like, "tired of waiting in LOONG lines to get your prescription filled? tired of walking ALL THAT WAY to the store to buy groceries? tired of exerting an IOTA of effort to get your chores done?" How else have we been doing things for the last couple hundred years? Inconveniencing yourself isn't a travesty!

Weight-loss ads are probably the worst. There's this commercial for some diet pill that says something like, "Lose weight without changing your life!"
