Does anyone have the number for the Vatican? I figure if I'm going to be in this state for the rest of my life, I might as well get sanctified.

According to my copy of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, it's 011-39-6-6982. It also mentions that his switchboard "is infallible."

I would support your canonization bid, except I think you have to be dead, and I certainly don't want that!

Turns out the word I was looking for was "consecrated," not "sanctified." Everyone I spoke to was very nice and passed me to the right channel, where they said they'd be happy to help me, except that I'm not a Catholic and my reasons for wanting consecration aren't that good.

The last sentence did not happen, but I'm pretty sure if I called (on my work phone- Mama don't rack up international charges on her own dime) the number you (and Douglas Adams) so helpfully provided, that'd pretty much be the response.
