I used to have asthma REALLY bad when I was younger, it still gets me every once in a while. And it's incredibly common, especially for people born and raised here. So don't feel too dorky carrying your inhaler around!

You insurance provider may have a "preferred" inhaled corticosteroid for which they will give you a better deal (read: a better copay). Many of the options within the same class of medication have equal efficacy, so it's worth calling your insurance provider (or looking at their website) to see if this is so. If you find this to be the case, you could call your doctor and ask her if the alternate option would be a good choice for you.
$30/month adds up! And it's not like Qvar is the only drug on the market. :D
