Well, I didn't get all the stuff done that I wanted to but I did get into what I have of the costume (sans makeup) and took some MAJOR pictures! Maxim fangirls, have your bibs ready and stand near your fainting couches.

Holy crap that's amazing.
Yes, you did do a pretty amazing job of giving yourself a mannish figure. I think that since it did require a lot of effort it definitely counts as more awesome than creepy. It's not like you accidentally got that way, or something. (Not that that would necessarily be creepy either, but you know what I mean.)

Totally hot costume. You need a red hatband, though! You could probably make one out of leftover scraps from sewing the cape. I have hatbands on the brain because I just stabbed the everloving bejeezus out of my fingers trying to pin a new hatband on an old straw hat. I am so not crafty. Oy.

Now I wish I had a cool sword. God! You're filling my head with terrible ideas. Go on, you.

*blush* Shucks!

Yeah, I definitely DID put a lot of effort into making my figure mannish, so I guess it isn't anything to be ashamed of. I'm rather proud. ^^

And yes, I do need a hatband. And yes! I was actually planning on using the leftover material from my cape. Hyu schmott gorl!

Haha, but terrible ideas are so FUN.

Wow, thanks!

And yeah, it's not finished yet. I still need to do the hatband, the cape, the gauntlet/prosthetic arm/whatever thingy, and the boots.

"get a guy friend or something to dress up as dimo then take some pictures... of many possible poses :P"

OMG, I wish I could! I'm still looking for people to go to Con as Dimo and Oggie. >_>

"and omg i forgot about his arm, how are you going to pull that of?"Hehe, I thought the same thing when I originally considered doing this costume. Actually, the spiky shoulder armor scared me more. Then I got some ideas from a craft foam armor tutorial I found on cosplay.com and my ideas ended up working better than I ever thought they would. The glove/arm thingy will be a cinch now that I have some prop-making experience. I'll be using glossy black model car paint and cast-resin red gems on craft foam molded over heat and sealed with Sobo glue. All that will be built around a black leather glove. It's a lot easier than it sounds ( ... )

Man, this costume is going to rock mightily. I'm seriously impressed. Really looking forward to seeing the finished result. :)

(And the idea that successful crossplay would be creepy rather than awesome would never cross my mind. *s*)

Me too! lol

Meh, you never know. I'm personally very proud of myself for pulling it off. It's nice to know that I could look like a convincing guy if I wanted to.

that is... freaking awesome. and you're not even done yet! i dabble a bit in costuming (dressed up as Rogue one year, that one took a year to make). i wanna know where did you find the perfect hat? i wish i lived close enough to countenance hitting the con!

Heee! *dances around gleefully* Thanks!

OMG that hat, let me tell you. It wasn't easy. I was just going to buy any old wide-brimmed hat and spray paint it purple because I couldn't find anything that even remotely resembled what I needed in the right color.

Then, as a last little look-see just in case I'd missed something, I did a random search for purple hats in general, ignoring the styles. I had to search through several pages before I found...

THE HAT OF PERFECTNESS *heavenly chorus ( ... )

I made a magneto outfit one time (to go with the rogue, snicker); i remember what a pain that helmet and the collar were. i learned a lot about liquid latex, lol.

Geez, I wish! When I'm enjoying myself at Con even I sometimes have trouble remembering to take pictures. I wish I had someone going with me who wasn't dressing up and was an avid photographer. One of my previous boyfriends was just that and I went with him to Con one year. He took SO many pictures! I wasn't dressed up at the time, though.
