Hi Clubbers, good to see you after our week off!
This episode was interesting. I wasn't expecting Kalicia so I wasn't disappointed by that absence any more than usual, but, as I discussed briefly with
schwarmerei1, what is kind of crazy is that if we weren't so sure that JM has put the kabosh on ALL THE THINGS, we'd be thinking about just how amazingly ripe things are for A/K right now. Here we have them both so obviously in mourning and repressing and pushing and acting out, and NOBODY ELSE can comfort them -- not Diane (although I did enjoy the little A/D tete-a-tete in the beginning before things went all to hell), not Peter, not the kids, not Cary or Jenna. I've long subscribed to the notion that Kalinda tries to fuck her pain away, so seeing that play out and be so damn unsuccessful was both sad and fascinating. So basically, now we have these two people adrift in the same sea, and it makes SO MUCH SENSE for them to drift to each other.
Le sigh. So much potential.
Thoughts? Were you cheering for Alicia pounding the nail in her marriage's coffin, or were you feeling kind of bad for Peter? Has your perhaps-newly-sparked A/K hope been kindled or dampened by this epi?
