Hello Clubbers! Game for a chat?
I wasn't really feeling this episode on an emotional level. It felt too mechanical to me, not enough heart after the feeling expended the last few epis. I know that I was supposed to be cheering as Alicia got her groove back, but I wasn't -- I had been hoping, not to see her depressed forever, but becoming more reflective about her life and choices; the time is certainly ripe for that, and heavens if it wouldn't be needed for a real person (as opposed to a fictional character). But instead, she simply reverted back to the "I don't give a fuck" attitude that I've been finding unattractive for a full season now. When she's in this mode, it leaves no room for connection in general, let alone the more complicated connection of the A/K variety that we all want.
There were some fun bits. I enjoyed Kalinda being herself with Canning, and the NSA guy's (sorry, I forget their names) awe and panic while in the den of his favorite unwitting celeb. And because I'm 12 I chuckled at the whole "going down" schtick.
But overall, meh. Show me something I haven't seen before.
