I watched the episode, and I thought it was solid. Not great, but good. Of course I loved the two Kalicia conversations, and the fact that Alicia called Kalinda to talk about her feelings (says a lot), but--and this may make me a terrible person, or just someone who's 500% over Alicia--past a certain point I just got really annoyed with Alicia's Quest To Find Out What Will Said. I mean, I totally understand it as a reaction to grief, but it just became a little too much for me by the end.

Kalinda, Diane, Cary, and--surprisingly--David Lee were all great though. I loved that Kalinda admitted that she loved Will, and that Diane tossed that asshat out of LG and let the door hit him on his metaphorical way out. I also appreciated that the show didn't villainize Peter and Eli--you could tell that it hit them in a very human place, too. I wish they had cut out 5 minutes of Alicia's Quest to show everyone else's reactions a bit more.

I loved Kalinda's quest-it seemed very true to character, and I liked that she was distressed enough that she basically rejected Alicia in the second convo in order to proceed with it. I agree with mightbefound about the phone call quest-I felt like Alicia got a few too many answers, but I guess it makes sense given that they plan to make Matthew Goode a series regular. I'm still not remotely convinced we're going to see A and K together onscreen, but it does make me think we'll get more Kalinda generally for the rest of the season, which works for me.

I'm also not remotely convinced that we'll see an actual A/K onscreen scene, but I'm more hopeful about it after last night. They definitely want the audience to think that Alicia and Kalinda are A-OK with one another, and that the friendship is chugging along fine offscreen. I can't imagine that would be a smart strategy if they knew definitively that the two of them were never going to speak face-to-face again. But at any rate, I'm glad to see Kalinda acting more like herself, and I also enjoyed the fact that she blew Alicia off in the second phone conversation, even though Alicia clearly wanted to talk more. It's more than time she did that, and I'd like to see Alicia doing a tiny little bit of chasing after Kalinda this time.

So they actually TALKED? I can't believe it! Well, of course on the phone, so that the actresses didn't need to be in the same room together, but at least it looked as if Alicia and Kalinda were talking, right? Since I've stopped watching the show: Can anybody tell me what they were talking about? I read that they were talking about Will's death but what did they say?

Kalinda has just been in the morgue, looking at Will's body, so she's pretty overwrought. Her phone buzzes, and she sees that it's Alicia ( ... )

Thank you so much, randomizer! I wish the dialogue would have been just a tiny little bit longer - after so many Kalicialess episodes :).

Well, nothing new there--I *always* wish that there interactions could be longer! But it was packed with depth and meaning just like in the old days. Really, even though it was a phone conversation that lasted 20 seconds at most, I haven't heard the two of them sounding so close and connected since IT (even allowing for the fact that Kalinda's mind was only half on Alicia, because she was thinking about Will). I have to say, if JM wants to ditch Kalicia forever, it really would behoove her to stop utterly *nailing* her scenes with Archie!

Hello! I'm normally just one who mostly lurks and feels warm and fuzzy because there are people FLIPPING OUT about Kalicia as much as I am, but I'm commenting today because last night's phone call made me so darn happy. I STILL think that JM is in charge, and after reading her facebook chat (i.e. "I have no idea"), I am sadly still convinced that she is anti Kalinda and Alicia interacting, BUT... baby steps, right? I don't think the Kings have given up on this - otherwise they would have kept doing what they are doing (keeping these characters apart) - and so I'm tentatively pleased.

And as much as I can be frustrated with JM personally, she was just so wonderful as Alicia in this episode. When it comes to repressed and than released anguish - she's the tops.

I agree with everything you said kate! And I hope you stay delurked in future.

The Kings kept on making Kalicia references throughout the drought. And then last night they had our girls back on their old telepathic page after two brief phone calls.

I have tried not to hope for anything, but I'll admit I am foolishly expecting something and *will* be disappointed if there's nothing.

However, I'm just so happy with where this leaves my fic-writing head. It's been hard to ship mentally for me for a LONG time. The major thing I'm writing is set back between seasons 3 & 4 as a result. Whereas now I can easily see a Kalicia future even if it's in my head.

I cannot TELL you what a relief it is to have a genuine "missing Kalicia scene," rather than something that I make up out of nothing. This installment will obviously be about "I'll see you soon," and I can't wait to write it. It's been a long time since I actually felt like writing a chapter in that thing, so I'm really pleased that I feel this way.

Yeah, I'm also cuddling a little bunny I'd thought of before the ep. And canon could not have provided more carrots and lettuce to encourage me to write it...
