Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4
The time stood still. Jaejoong looked at his friend in disbelief. Or well, his friend? What kind of friend would just put xtc in your drink without you knowing? Jaejoong's mind was completely empty while his eyes found Jae Sun's. Jae Sun's expression was a mix of guilt and embarrassment. After a few painful seconds of silence, Jaejoong abruptly stood up, causing the chair he had been sitting on to fall on the floor. The feeling of utter betrayal had been raging through his body, leaving a heavy weight in his stomach. "I'm leaving. I can't believe you drugged me, I trusted you! Shit shit shit, you know it's illegal in South Korea right? I don't care whether it's illegal or legal in the States and that you've used it before when you were living there: I had no intention of using drugs, Jae Sun!" Jaejoong ranted, trying to ignore his hangover. He stormed to the living room where he searched for his stuff. He couldn't find the bag he had taken with him when he had left the SM building... but whatever, all that he cared about was leaving this place. Determined, Jaejoong turned around and walked to the hall where he found his shoes.
"Hey, please listen to me! I never meant to make you do anything illegal. I only wanted you to enjoy your life and stop worrying about being an idol. I thought this would be the ideal distraction, I mean... how long has it been since you've had a normal life?" Jae Sun said, following his friend to the hall. "I can understand if you need time right now. This won't happen again, I swear, please don't let this influence our friendship..."
"Having a normal life by using drugs?" Jaejoong jeered. "I don't know what got into your mind but damn, what you did to me yesterday wasn't the distraction I needed." He was tired of arguing with his friend. He just needed to make sure this little adventure wasn't going to repeat itself - and hide this experience somewhere no living soul would ever come. He changed the subject. "Yah, do you know where my stuff is? You know, my bag I've had with me when I left SM? I don't even know where my cell phone is..." And I had like three of those with me.
"Oh yeah, you asked me to keep your phone for you..." Jae Sun mumbled. After rummaging through the pockets of his jacket, a cell phone showed up. "Your bag is in my car, I can get it for you if you want?"
"No need to do that, you can just give them to me when we're practicing." Jaejoong said, taking his phone from Jae Sun's hand after he put on his jacket and shoes. Without saying another word, he left the house.
Once he got outside the house, he inhaled deeply. The cold air was refreshing and calmed his mind. He walked away without knowing where to go to, his only goal to stay away from Jae Sun's house. The raven-haired boy grabbed his phone and looked at the missed calls and text messages. A lot of them were from Yunho, asking him where he was... but one also encouraged him to have some fun with Jae Sun and to relax. Jaejoong's vision became blurry and he tried to swallow away his tears. Yunho didn't know what he had actually encouraged Jaejoong to do.
Looking around, he had no idea where he exactly was. His hands searched in his pockets for money but all he had was a coin of 100 won which wasn't exactly helpful. Apparently, he had squandered a lot on alcohol yesterday. As if that wasn't obvious enough already by his huge headache. Jaejoong weighed his options... he could just ask for directions but who knows where he would end up? (especially with his clumsiness and awesome sense of direction). After a few seconds, he hesitantly reached out for his phone and dialed Yunho's number.
"Jae! You didn't reply to my texts and I haven't seen you all day. Where are you right now?" Yunho's worried voice sounded through his phone. Listening to that voice and thinking back of what Jaejoong had done the day before, made him shudder in disgust. How much faith and love the leader had put into him and how Jaejoong had misused it.
"I... I need you to pick me up." Jaejoong whispered in the phone, his voice trembling. It was too embarrassing to ask this much of his friend but he didn't know who else to call at the moment. It was somewhere in the afternoon, he had no idea where he was, he had no money and a huge hangover. The only person who he could call at the moment was Yunho.
Immediately, the tone of Yunho's voice became more anxious. "Why? Where are you? What happened?" he asked sharply and Jaejoong could imagine his body tense up. "We were just taking a break with the practice, just tell me where you are."
Jaejoong hadn't paid much attention to the roads and he had no idea where he was - he just knew where he didn't want to be. So after this very intelligent question of Yunho, he looked around for any street signs. After he had told Yunho the street name and hung up on the phone, Jaejoong expected himself to feel relieved - to his surprise, that wasn't the case at all. Instead of the expected relief, a wave of anxiety washed over him. What was he going to tell Yunho? He surely wasn't going to tell him that he had drunk way too much last night, Jae Sun had drugged him which led to the best night of his life but also caused the greatest hangover of his life. And he surely wasn't going to tell Yunho that he was now standing outside Jae Sun's house, freezing to death, not knowing how to get home. The 100 won coin wasn't of much help either.
After debating with himself, Jaejoong decided to lie even though the prospect of having to lie to one of his best friends made him even more anxious. He had little time to make up a good story because after hardly ten minutes, Jaejoong caught sight of Yunho's car. The boy opened the car door, purposely not meeting Yunho's eyes. He settled himself on the seat, closed the door and put on his seatbelt. After coming to the conclusion he had nothing else to distract him anymore, Jaejoong faced Yunho who had started driving again.
"So? Are you going to explain to me why you're here in the outskirts of Seoul and need me to pick you up? Why didn't you return my calls? You could've at least sent one text message, you know..." Yunho started calmly, keeping his gaze on the road. He seemed very composed but Jaejoong knew Yunho was raging inside. He swallowed away his fears and put on his poker face. At least, he hoped he was putting on his poker face.
"Yeah, I'm so sorry. My battery was dead yesterday so I didn't see your calls and texts until I recharged my phone. But there were some issues... I kind of got into an argument with Jae Sun." Jaejoong said, looking outside the window to avoid Yunho's eyes. The last thing wasn't exactly a lie. He tried to relax his body as he slumped back into the seat, closing his eyes in a weak effort to lessen his headache.
"An argument? About what?" Yunho said and Jaejoong could imagine him frowning right now. A new idea popped into Jaejoong's mind as he was lying in the car with his eyes closed and his body relaxed.
"Mhmm...?" Jaejoong tried his very best to pretend he was falling asleep. It kind of worked as he shifted his pose once more, leaning his body sideways. His forehead was pressed against the window and the cool glass eased some of his headache. His attempt to feign sleeping was actually going quite well. Not only had Yunho stopped questioning him, it also helped him ease his headache. If only his nausea wasn't going to play up (throwing up in Yunho's car equaled death) then everything would be fine.

"Jae, wake up! We're here." a soft voice spoke to him, followed by hands who shook him gently. Of course, Jaejoong hadn't been able to sleep a wink as his brains were working hard, trying to think of better cover up stories. Unfortunately, he hadn't been able to create a believable story.
Feigning his sleepiness, he blinked a few times and then stretched his body while suppressing a yawn. Without saying another word, he stumbled out of the car. Quickly, Jaejoong observed the surroundings and came to the conclusion Yunho hadn't brought them to the SM building but to their dorm. He couldn't describe the relief he felt, he wouldn't know what to do if he had to face Ryans right now. Facing him in the most crappy state ever without having trained a single dance move since he was kicked out of the practice wasn't exactly the smartest thing you could do.
"Jae, you have to tell me what happened. What can I expect when someone calls me right out of dance practice, sounding all confused? And you look so tired and ill, what's wrong?" Yunho asked, after they had entered the dorm. Trying to delay the moment where he had to answer him, Jaejoong kicked his shoes off and took his jacket off. When he had nothing else to do and was forced to face his friend, he had prepared his lie. All that was left, was to act it out well and not slip up.
"There's nothing wrong, it's just as you said. Jae Sun came after me after that bastard of a trainer had sent me away and he cheered me up. We left to go to his house and we had quite some fun and before we realized it, it was already too late to go home. But yeah, the next morning I wasn't feeling well and I think I kind of worked on Jae Sun's nerves so we got into an argument. Nothing to worry about, though, we will figure it out. Maybe we became too close too soon." Jaejoong chuckled bitterly. "I don't want to talk about it, I really don't feel too w..."
He stopped abruptly in his sentence as he suddenly felt very nauseous. "Jae?" Jaejoong could feel Yunho's worried eyes looking at him as he stepped forwards, waving his hands before Jaejoong's blank eyes. Afraid of throwing his breakfast up all over Yunho, Jaejoong motioned him to stop and after a few deadly seconds of silence, Jaejoong gave up and ran to the toilet as fast as he could.
~
The first few days after that particular event weren't that bad. Even though it was really awkward the first time Jaejoong saw Jae Sun and even though Jae Sun tried to talk to him, to beg him to forgive him or at least understand why he did it, Jaejoong gave him the cold shoulder. He tried not to talk to him and if he had no other choice, he tried to limit the words that were leaving his mouth.
Yunho was a great help. He didn't ask any questions about the incident and just offered his help with dancing. With his help, Jaejoong managed to master the choreography of their title track completely. Everything seemed to have gone back to normal. Maybe that's why Jaejoong let his guard down. He realized later it was the calm before the storm.

A/N: Woah, I'm sorry for the late update... ;_; And it was a kind of short and crappy chapter as well. XD;; But err, yeah, recently I've been too lazy to write on this story and I have no more inspiration so it kind of fails [since we've just reached chapter 4 - I can't allow to get a writer's block now!]. But I've started watching dramas again, this time '49 Days' and it's totally awesome! <3 Since I've caught up on the episodes already, I have nothing left to do anymore lol xD I totally recommend watching it~ <3
