Lost, Period Dramas - 45 icons

(Notes: I am sorry for the delay between postings-it is taking me a bit longer than it has in the past to make enough icons for a full post. I kind of got into a bit of a ‘middle center crop w/ negative space’ funk with this batch. *shrug* )

Are you planning on more N&S icons? I love that miniseries. :)

I LOVE what you've been doing with negative space recently. 7 is particularly stunning. (As are the two AoaTD icons!)

Thank you, m’dear! You know, I fear that negative space is going to become my crutch soon! I swear, lately every time I look at an image to icon I think “Hmm, how can I smudge-up some negative space here.” It is very addicting.

Since I see you have some North and South icons, what did you think of it?! It's one of my top 5 miniseries ever, definitely. OK, so, I wanted to love it-I went into it truly wanting to love it, cause I love me some period pieces, but I ended up just kind of liking it. I don’t know if it was the pacing or the production value, or what. It was well acted, certainly, and the tone of it very much fit with the tone of the story. I think it may have been the characters: I liked Mr. T far more than I liked her; for me, Margaret comes off a little too proud and haughty. And the plot, overall, was kind of a downer, which I am all for so long as the payoff at the end is proportional to the suffering ( ... )

She's much more self-righteous in the book

More? Yikes.

Gaskell is overly fond of killing off characters.

I’ve not read anything by her (yet) but if N&S is an indication then, girl, you ain’t kidding. After the first one I thought “OK, I can see that, very sad, got it.” The second I was like “Really? Well, all right.” By the end I was all “OH COME ON, another?”

they abandoned it entirely in the second season though. They don't even talk to each other, which is super frustrating.

Really? That would be annoying, especially given that they had this whole flirty “we’re like brother and sister but not really wink wink” thing going on in S1. The writing seemed to be leaning toward that way, which I recall because I wasn’t fond of it at all. :)

But they let Bradley James go shirtless most the time so I'm not wholly complaining. Yes, that can only improve the viewing experience, unless of course the shirtless boy is blindingly pale and pastey and skinny and should never never be shown shirtless when a ‘female swooning’ effect is ( ... )

I've gotten into the same thing recently... maybe there's a bug going around.

These are all gorgeous, as per usual. :D
