Stepping on hot coals, while stoking the woodstove, in nothing but socks burns the bottom of feet and makes holes in socks.

NTS Wear Shoes while doing this!

treading on hot coals isn't good for the socks, but do I remember some Pacific islanders who use to walk bare foot on beds of glowing charcoal as some sort of stunt and apparently were able to do so without burning their feet....?.

I have heard that, I however, am not skilled in that particular area and just put holes in my sock and a blister on my foot.
