So I know I have told you a little something about the guy who works with me, Gary.  He has a girlfriend and some kids.  Two that live with him all the time and 1 that he has on weekends.  Anyway they were evicted from their place last month and have until tomorrow midnight to get out.  They have been looking for a house and have an offer in on one

You aren't crazy, and maybe advise them guidelines are basic at first, with a few understandable additions due to who you and they are after they have lived in your basement for a while ( 1 week? 2? ) and maybe figure out between you and the rest of your family "how long" can you stand them past the guesting and giving them a hand time

I know it will be at least a few more weeks- their Realtor called, there was another bid so they asked them to come back (by noon tomorrow) with their highest & best bid- fingers crossed.

Believe it or not bathroom time has not yet been a problem; we all shower at such different times it isn't causing any conflicts.

I don't really feel like a hostess. It's been a good thing thus far

Make sure they realize this is temporary and establish a set "be out by" date and definetely establish a written set of rules, expectations, etc-regarding food, utilities, etc.
