Question
I am knitting this hat.  I am finished with the pattern and have knitted the additional 40 rows.
I picked up my cast on edge, however I had to do part of it with a smaller circular because picking up the little stitches with the DPN's got too frustrating, I was only getting a few a day and they were way too tight on the needles.  I didn't ( Read more... )

What you are doing is joining two sets of live stitches into one set that you'll continue knitting on. So..

Yes, pick up with what you've got. What you pick up stiches with, is almost irrelevant. It just has to be close-ish.

Knit ONto the needle you want to continue knitting with - which is the 2.25mm circular.

I hope I've answered the question :)

I kinda understood how it was put together but which needle where was confusing. I am going to put all of the co edge on smaller needles since I picked up 3 too many and have to go back to them anyway. I have done the 3 needle thing before when making the slippers, so I understand how that is done. The directions aren't very clear though. I like to have all the details written out.
