I'm totally loving these new episodes (and I was thoroughly sick of Neverland - though, I'll give them this - they wrapped that story up with a snap and a whip and it was pretty awesome!).

I'm enjoying Robin and his men, and Hook - even his pursuit of Emma - because it's nice to finally feel like there's some balance between the men and the women. Rumple and David were definitely straining to carry the full load of manly appeal given such an outstanding array of utterly awesome women.

(Yes. I know. The huntsman/sherrif was supposed to help - but honestly, he just didn't do it for me. Not so sure how that 50 Shades film is going to work with him the lead.... - and so was Neal and so was August/Pinocchio, but. Just. No. They did not help. I kinda hope the new plot puts Neal out of his misery. Matchy Matchy him with some other chick and let them fade to obsurcity, inviting Rumple and Belle by occaionsly to play with the grandkiddies.)

I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying this new state of things. Granted, they tend to mess up the middle - their opening episodes and season finales are always strong - but maybe the 11 episode structure is actually helping their storytelling.

I am so not interested in any of the het ships (except Rumpel/Cora, because ugh, those two), but I'm enjoying Hook being a delightful presence offering a lot of snippy commentary and bro-ing it up with Charming. Not to mention the silly faces he keeps making. I've grown fond of his face, even if I'm not convinced of his twu wuv for Emma. Robin Hood is still boring, but I thoroughly enjoyed his bafflement on meeting the Evil Queen. 'You have found a reason to live? Is it love? Oh, is it?' 'MURDERRRRRRRR'

I suspect they will be killing off Neal. I don't see him hanging around contributing to the story in any way. His death, though, causes much drama.

Ug. Yes. Killing Neal would make sense. I hope they go with Emma feeling guilty for not grieving very much, rather than something more maudlin ( ... )

It's odd that I don't care for any of the canon het ships in OUAT, but that might have to do with the fact that it's one of the very rare shows where I have two female protagonists whom I like almost equally (Regina a little more, because hello, type!), which means OTP! I don't usually function this way fannishly - usually I tend to fall for one character and ship them with everyone (which is easy with Lana Parilla having chemistry with a spoon, and yet ( ... )

Oh, you must be scrolling like mad past my LJ posts lately, lol! Please note, I have used a lovely Emma icon instead of my usual default. Hee.

I have such a love/hate relationship with Regina, but I do love watching her in every scene. Her 'someone to destroy!' line was pure gold (no pun intended) and gave me much joy. I wrote some Regina for a story this week for the first time and I enjoyed it so much, she was actually the easiest character to write in the whole thing.

I think that post-NYC Emma is much more sympathetic towards Henry's other mother because post-NYC Emma has actually BEEN Henry's mother for a whole year - she can understand Regina's love for Henry much better now, I think. Of course, I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop and things to go back to 'he's my son, no he's mine', but for now, it's so much fun watching them work together!

Hee, I have logged into LJ after months - I forgot my password and LJ banned me for an hour last night! (Yes, resolving to spend more time here again, we'll see how long that lasts.)

Regina is awful and wonderful, so of course I can understand why you have a love-hate relationship with her. When the show is being particularly awful, though, she's the one who makes me keep watching. I have a type! I cannot help myself! But I love Emma too. In fact OUAT is one of those shows where I adore two female protagonists enough to ship them in a OTPish fashion instead of my usual multi-shipping, which is odd but also nice. For once there's a lot of fanfic to read, even if Tumblr fandom drives me up the wall on most days.

Of course, I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop and things to go back to 'he's my son, no he's mine', but for now, it's so much fun watching them work together!Yes, exactly. Emma is a lot more comfortable and confident opening up to people, if that makes sense? But the other shoe will drop because the Evil Queen WILL ( ... )
