Oh, so Davis really is dead. Well, it is better that he died this way then on the show. And I'm glad that Chloe loved him and was actually tired of living her life for everyone else. I like her as a hero but it's so frustrating that she has to suffer so much for it and she can't have a life of her own. She's always doing everything for everyone else. So I really like her leaving town and trying to find her own life ( ... )

I honestly wasn't intending to include Jimmy in the story as much of anything (Plus I also like Jimmy as Jimmy) but I finally decided to at least try to come up with some sort of explanation that even kind of made sense. (Parents do weird things to their kids).

This really was supposed to be much shorter and only a Clark/Chloe/Davis story but somewhere along the line other characters snuck and I decided to stay somewhat true to the Smallville storyline. (at least the parts that made sense)

I too am sad that Davis died. I've never been into the whole romance of death thing. As a writer, I have this issue with character deaths. I rarely kill major characters because when I do I feel like I've failed at finding a resolution to their story. I recognize this as my problem. That being said, this was a much better ending than PS3 gave Davis and at least Chloe made some progress as a character and it stuck. This was one of the biggest problems of the ep, it randomly decided to undo so much good character progression throughout the season and basically made the whole show worthless because character progress obviously meant nothing. The series could have easily ended at the end of s8 - Clark could have became Superman, confessed his feelings for Lois, and if Chloe couldn't run off with a cured Davis, his death could have hit her so hard she took her exit from the story. All the finale did was mess things up to have more "material" for season 9. What a shame.

This was an improvement :) Nice job.

Thanks. And mostly I agree with you on the death of a major character angle, in NotJimmy's case they could have come up with a better way to end his character. However Davis Bloome was one of those characters that just HAS to die in the end. Honestly his death never bothered me. It was Chloe's reaction to him and the way the show killed him off the bothered me.

Some characters do have to die in the end. It makes for good drama. What makes good writing (and bad for that matter) is how and why they die. What made Chloe/Davis so interesting to me (besides the chemistry) was that it was doomed. (Pun so intended)

Oh and thanks for the feedback.

WOW!!!

This is really awesome!! This is what I wanted and wished to see for Doomsday.

Love the little tidbit of the Jimmy's and the stupid ideas parents get when naming them.
Thank you for not changing her feelings last minute, because that made Chloe look so shitty!! Love that Chloe decided to choose herself, it was about damn time.
Like the idea of Clark being split and then Lois looking up at a statue of Kal and Tess El. So freaking awesome!!!
I understand why Davis had to die but it still makes me sad. And yes his death is fixed.
