Yes, this first stage is bloody hard. Does S. want his stuff soon? I'd suggest you box up everything that is his - clothing, ornaments, photographs, music, everything - seal it up with packing tape and stack it somewhere out of the way. I'd suggest you get a new pillow and mattress topper, too - that won't have his scent on them. Sounds ridiculously primal, but it makes a huge difference for some
