I wouldnt put all the blame on Heinberg, since his YA stories depend on Bendis's Avengers. Its not his fault bendis repainted all the toys in the toybox and changed the way to play with them, right? (Also, Im pretty sure Age of X doesnt have anything to do with YA, because...come on, that would be so dumb on so many levels...wait, its so dumb, it might be right!) Also, does the comic still carry that warning about its place in continuity making sense by the end of the series?
Not that I noticed, I think it was just for the first one. On the understanding that the issues following would fall into the net of the initial warning.
I have no issues with "writer" Bendis...I have issues with "marvel overseer" Bendis, if you catch my drift. I like his Avengers titles and U. Spidey is the only ultimate title that hasnt gone to hell post Ultimatum, but I LOATHE that Bendis gets to call way too many shots over marvel current continuity, and thats a real issue for other writers that only hurts good stories from fully realizing themselves. At least he's not as bad as Mark Millar, who ive come to loathe.... What im saying is, I could bet money that Bendis enforced a LOT of changes on YA:CC, and that sucks.
Oh yeah, this entirely. And who knows what awesome we shall miss because of it? Also, I think it sucks entirely that he gets to keep plotty secrets and keep other creators in the dark, who you know, are writing the current canon for the characters he intends to continually screw over.
No, they haven't seen one another yet. They spent the whole issue apart. I think though, Teddy will be in the next one. He'll probably show up right behind Nate!
The X-thing is just another sidewinder future they're pitching. But, given everything's going into a handbasket at once, and given X-history, I am not about to rule out anything or anyone with a mutant gene.

Umm. Yeah, sorry. The rest of it is pretty awesome, too. I'm just mostly an X-girl. :)

Teddy, by the way, is not shown in the epic Avenger's battle.
These are the last four panels of him in this issue (in order):
