Why is it that people can’t even be bothered to say at least “hi” on the street while passing another human being? It’s certainly understandable when you’re walking down a crowded sidewalk, you’d be inconveniencing people, but when there’re only passing someone every couple minutes where’s the harm in a simple “hello”, “hey!”, “hi” or “afternoon.” ( Read more... )

Well, I've gone up to Catoctin yet again, but this time with Matt and Nick. The last snowfall hadn't melted at all, we found ourselves trekking over snow-covered trails. Hiked all the way up to my favorite spot, Chimney Rock, took in the view for a bit and headed back. Much fun was had by all ( Read more... )

Went up to Sugarloaf yesterday to go and practice on the tin whistle (I'll post mp3s when it starts sounding a bit better). There were some Frederick County fifth graders visiting, so I didn't exactly get the quiet, serene experience I was going for, but I got to learn a bit about how the mountain got it's name ( Read more... )
