So if all of the mailboxes right now are open, can you go steal other people's combos and periodically steal their mail throughout the year? ;)

Actually, you could, but we have an honor code here, and assuming everyone follows it, we won't do things like stealing combos. And since we all signed it when we came here (there's even a huge ceremony for it--it's a pretty big deal), getting caught at that would end very badly, and not just for the obvious reasons.

And when I read your comment, I thought you were talking about the food Combos instead of combinations. And why doesn't Firefox spellcheck recognize combinations as a word?

I wonder if that is related to some sort of federal regulation?

*is sad to see the Honor System decline*

I sat on the Honor Court and the system wasn't perfect, but it worked.

I'm not sure, but I'm asking and starting one of those obnoxious protests. You know, being that kid who forgets her combination every day. I hear that at least one petition is getting started to change this, though.

I guess I could understand it if it was a federal regulation that they had to abide by, or if there ahd been a rash of thefts or something, but just changing it for the sake of change seems stupid to me.

good luck!

I'm thinking the same thing. What else are we supposed to do when we're not in class and on the Internet, study? :P

As for your question, I don't know. If your box gets closed somehow, I recommend leaving it open after checking your mail. If enough people do it, maybe they'll also get tired of closing all those mailboxes.

Were the boxes not public before?

That's kind of sad. I wonder why they're changing it now.

And now that I think about it, I can't even remember if I left mine open when I was there. I guess I've just gotten used to having to actually open my mailbox at Tech. I probably did leave it open though. I've always hated memorizing lock combinations.

I still miss Agnes. I'm sick and tired of TN Tech. :(
